Here in good ole TAXACHUSETTS we pay a
$60 registration fee every 2 years…I pay an additional $40 for a reserved plate.
we also pay an annual vehicle inspection fee of $35
then we pay an annual auto excise tax based on the current value ( Nada) of the car….@ $25 per $1,000

You have to pay almost $1300 a year … that is crazy … I live in Long Island (New York) and I pay $90 per year per registration for each car … are your property taxes or state income taxes on the lower side … and they say Long Island is a very expense place to live

The first year is a killer. Nice issue with Massachusetts is that they drop the excise tax drastically after 3 years of ownership.
Sucks, but my wife saying it's the price of being a club member. Somebody has to pay for migrants schooling, medical, housing, food, and transportation.
I just wish wish that when the government puts their hands in my pockets, they would stimulate more than squeezing.

In SC we have a very low sales tax when purchasing cars/trucks, capped at $500. BUT we have an annual Personal Property Tax to get the sticker for your license plate based on the Black Book value. So my E-Ray will only cost $500 sales tax but that 1st year will be about $1500 Personal Property Tax. It will reduce to the Black Book value in following years. BUT after 25 years no Black Book values! So a mint condition '63 split window Vette would cost essentially zero just like my '34 Street Rod. Some small fees but no PP Tax!

Frank, might mention the sales tax when purchasing the Corvette, 6.25% of selling price + registration fee

2023 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
My initial registration cost here in AZ was $1215...
The only good news for those of us in AZ is that registration cost will continue to be reduced by16.25% each year after it was first registered in Arizona...
My insurance through NCM is running $687/yr

Arkansas... $58.39 a year and that's with a personalized plate. No state inspection. We do have personal property tax though and that was $848.89 for the year.

In Missouri for my C7, a two year license registration is $89 (approximately). No state inspection if car is under 10 years old.
