Rear Stingray trunk emblem

Rear Stingray trunk emblem
I had to have my rear hatch painted due to a bubble under the paint. It was covered under warranty and when I got it back the first time it was not done well and the rear emblem they put on was crooked. So they took it back and reworked the paint and I asked them to just give me the emblem and I would put it on myself. Well now that it’s not on I kind of like it. I know it’s all a matter of preference, so just asking who else has thought about removing it or done it and what are your thoughts? I think it kind of looks clean and was not a huge fan of it before.

It’s your car and if you are pleased with the look sans the emblem, keep it that way. If you chantey our mind later on, it should be easy to add it back on the car.

I took off all my emblems off the 2nd week I had my car. That stingray emblem is just so odd to me. Also, waxing and cleaing the car is so much better without it.

I bought my car off the dealer lot and no one noticed (Chevy QC, dealer PDI, salesman, etc) the rear Stingray badge was missing, including me. After two weeks, I called the selling dealer and they ordered a new black badge for me. After two months, the new badge is still sitting on my shelf and I will not be installing it. If the new owner wants to put it on, I will provide the “missing” badge for them.
I think it looks fine without it, so there is no reason to put it on.

Mine is gone. Removed when the stripes went on, about two weeks into ownership.

When I first saw photos, I thought I might want to remove it. But once I saw the car in person I really like it. I did remove the Corvette lettering off the back.To each their own.

I removed mine a day after I took delivery, looks cleaner and easier to clean. A week after, I decided to remove the corvette emblem to. The good thing about this, is you can always replace them for less than $100 bucks.

I took the lettering off but left the polliwog in place. To throw people off I have Porsche license plate holders.

When I first saw the polliwog at the dealership before I even got in the car for the first time, I decided it had to go. And then I decided that the front emblem on the frunk also had to go. Car looks much better with them off. Both just cheapen the look of the car.

I debadged my frunk and absolutely love the look but I have to grab a microfiber towel to shut it. So all in on debadging the truck because of the auto close 👍

Steve,
Are they easy to remove? Dental floss and some Goo Gone easy?
People continue to say use "dental floss" for removal. My dental floss is not strong enough for the job. I use a relatively light weight string that is more "abrasive" than dental floss and stronger to cut through the rubber glue that holds them on. They come off very easy with kind of a sawing motion with a strong string. The rubber glue is the hard part. First, I kept "rolling" the glue with my index finger to get as much off as possible and then went to Goo Gone and continued the rolling and dissolving with the glue. My index finger hurt for a couple days but in the end it was worth it. I've been debating with myself to take off the "Corvette" lettering in the back but so far have left that on. I think it looks cheap also.

3M Adhesive Remover works really well to get the glue and tape residue off. And won't damage the paint.
I used dental tape, rather than floss. It's stronger, I think. Apply heat first (hair dryer works well), then use floss or tape and it comes right off.

I have removed the rear black Stingray, hair dryer or heat gun, dental floss and WD40 to dissolve residue. Also removed CORVETTE letter from the rear, much easier to clean, bought another front emblem and put it where the Stingray was much like the Z06 and use it to close the trunk. Easy to clean around and matches my front emblem.
