C8’s are still rare - only saw 1 in 2 hours/120 miles

Comparing C8s seen to Teslas is really apples/oranges comparisons.
My take on Teslas - because there is a range concern and charging opportunities on long hauls, Teslas to me, tend to be purchased more as urban commuter cars and daily urban driver cars. I think that is why they will always count higher than C8 sightings where you have a car that doesn't do as well picking up groceries and a run to Home Depot. C8s are also probably chosen more as a second (third) fun car and not as a first or only car. Therefore, they're likely to spend more time out of sight and in garages.
And I know at least someone will say they grocery shop with their C8, but, in general....

C8’s are not a rare car. A rare car might be a 458, 488, GT3-RS but C8’s are everywhere, including over 50 on used car lots within a 50 miles radius of where I live. ALSO what makes them appear rare is so many people hardly ever drive them.

C8's really are still quite uncommon -- as many folks have noted in here they are NOT Mustangs, Teslas, Accords, Civics or Priuses. I think I am being objective in saying that since their looks have been pretty much unchanged the last 20 years, Porsche 911s and Caymans appear to be way more common than C8s. Until you attend a C&C or car show. Us C8 owners like to show our babies off.
Now folks in my neck of the woods might think they are common because I do my part -- 16K miles in 21 months.

This is true. One had better be an extrovert to DD a C8. Especially in Rapid Blue. It is a chick magnet, a guy magnet and a kid magnet like I have NEVER owned before -- and it is the 8th Vette I've had as a DD in the last 20 years....

Corvette’s used to be super cool when there was some exclusivity to them. Now a base model cost the same as a Toyota or a pick up truck. When you would drive down the road in the past and see another Corvette the driver would wave and it was a cool exclusive club. Now it’s just another car. Sort of a bummer.
The ballooned price of a bloated up pickup truck these days is the truck owners' problem, not anyone else's.

The holiday weekend must have coaxed the Vettes out of their garages because yesterday I drove my C8 about 250 miles from Clearwater Beach to Jacksonville and saw 4 C8’s (including an Orange coupe that followed along with me for several miles and gave me the thumbs up), 4 C7’s, 1 C5, and 1 C4 (unfortunately it was broken down on the side of I-95 just N of Daytona). I also had 2 false C8 sightings, LOL, one turned out to be a red Ferrari and the other turned out to be an orange Lamborghini. I was also counting LC500’s and yellow vehicles since I was trading in my C8 for a yellow LC500 - I spotted 12 yellow vehicles including one C8 - the rest were Jeeps, Bugs, a Camaro, a Mustang, a Charger, and an H2 Hummer, etc. I spotted 0 LC500’s and I did not count anything on the way back cuz it was dark

C8 Stingrays are pretty common in the western NY area. I see quite a few at cruise nights. I have a Pearl White 70th Anniversary Coupe, but I have yet to see one in the wild or even at a cruise night. As of Friday 9/1 only 4325 70th Anniversary Corvettes have been built and that includes both Coupe and HTC's in Pearl White and Carbon Flash.

I was back in Chicago to visit over the weekend and saw three or four on the road. There was actually a dealer in Wheeling that had a bunch of them on the lot.
Maybe I didn't pay attention as much when I was living there, but I couldn't believe how many C5-C7s I saw on the road. I mean everywhere. You'd think in California it would be like that, but no.. I only see a fraction of what I saw in Chicago in any given weekend here.

“Rare” is the wrong term to use regarding the C8.
Like any Corvette of any generation, it is more accurate to say “low density”. This low density of C8s combined with the fact that many are not daily driven and in some areas of the country are among the most impractical or unaffordable car to have, it might seem “rare”.
The C8 isn’t much of a “me too” car, but it isn’t rare. Rare would be if GM only built 500 for the planet.

😃Glad to be doing my fair share to keep the "perception" of C8 rarity, by enjoying/driving my C8 only 4k miles/year and never in the rain.
Although, fortunately it's real easy not to have to drive the C8 any of the 10 days of the year it rains here in AZ 🌞
