Default What delivery time frame to expect?

I got a call last Friday that me car was built and got the VIN. I spoke with the Chevrolet Concierge this morning and she said my car was status 4000, ready to ship. She also said it could be 3 to 5 more weeks before it actually ships!

Is the 3 to 5 weeks realistic or this just Chevrolet being cautious.

There are a couple of us that have taken the plant tour recently and were told all Corvettes are held for 2 weeks just in case any of the parts suppliers have a recall on any parts used during the build…

They "may" be held two weeks. There are many direct examples of people having cars in their garage within 2 weeks of build.

^This...

Not all C8s after build are held for 2 weeks...

Only C8s that were found to have had a problem during final inspection are placed on a QC hold which could range anywhere from 1~4 weeks depending on problem and part replacement availability....

…they’ve been leaving the “may” out of the “held for 2 weeks” statement on the tour lately. I’m not the only one that’s heard it the same way. …just reporting what was said on the tours since mid July at least…

It all depends on full truck loads to dealerships near you. If you live in a rural area, it may take a while. I can say in metro Houston, my 2019 and 2020 cars ordered, it was only about a week.

My 2021 was built on 9/7/21 and on my dealer’s lot on 9/11/21 with four other C8s in north Atlanta. They DO NOT hold them for two weeks in QC unless they find an issue.

Jack Cooper is the other variable. They won’t dispatch from BG until they have a full trailer of C8s going your way. How long that takes is purely dependent on where you live and dealer orders on that trailer on the route they take to get to you.

Thanks for the responses. I live in the Washington DC area, and Criswell chevy is in the same area, so there should be a number of new C8 headed this way.

Mine took several weeks to get to Criswell in Gaithersburg. And for whatever reason, the truck had a 2 day layover in WV on the way. So, yes, it could be longer than two weeks. It varies.

The posting of a pre-strike C8 owner....worried about days or a week or two. How many of us should be so lucky?

The two day layover would indicate to me the driver ran out of DOT Hours of Service for the week.

I never pursued it nor found out. But yeah, my guess is he needed some R&R. At that time, the dealer had a way to track the truck (not a car on the truck, that actual truck). I have read here that they don't do that any more (or at least dont tell anyone if the do).
