Default Programming TPMS

Almost new 2023 C8. Can't seem to get the TPMS programmed. I go to the DIC and find the tire pressure setting. Hit the button and "relearn" pops up. I hold that button for 5+ seconds and usually to just goes back to "relearn". Once last week it actually gave me the tire pressures but I can't seem to duplicate that.
Am I missing something??
Thanks

Take it to your nearest Discount Tire. They will do it for free. Takes about a minute. They just walk around the car with a scanner and done. I put new wheels on my car with new GM sensors and had the same problem.

You can buy a relearn tool on Amazon for less than $10. Just go to the settings screen and click relearn on you dash. Start at drivers front and work around the car clockwise.

The car should automatically relearn the TPMS sensors without intervention, there is a description in the owners manual. I forget what the relearn option is in the DIC but it might be that the relearn option in the DIC needs to be used with a TPMS tool.

This is correct.

They don't always relearn. I have 3 sets of wheels and tires sometimes they relearn through the dic other times they don't. I just got in the habit of using a tool it takes 30 seconds and you don't have to wonder.

Ive had no issue either

I have multiple wheels and tires sets (daily summers, all seasons, two track sets) and all relearn on mine within a few miles.

I would hope that they did not go back to having to use a tool to get the sensors to sync with the car. That was a nice feature on the C7.

TPMS Sensor Matching Process — Auto Learn Function Each TPMS sensor has a unique identification code. The identification code needs to be matched to a new tire/wheel position after rotating the tires or replacing one or more of the TPMS sensors. When a tire is installed, the vehicle must be stationary for about 20 minutes before the system recalculates. The following relearn process takes up to 10 minutes, driving at a minimum speed of 20 km/h (12 mph). A dash (-) or pressure value will display in the DIC. See Driver Information Center (DIC) 0 92. A warning message displays in the DIC if a problem occurs during the relearn process

I don't know if one needs to actually have the car stationary for 20 min after a rotation. But the car should relearn on its own without a tool. All my cars (of various makes) have always relearned without a tool

Dealer visit or tool. I have the tool which is idiotproof, maybe $10 on Amazon and works on most brands.

No dealership visit or tool needed. Have rotated sets of wheels probably 20 times on this c8

Yes that is exactly what the relearn option on the menu is for - to be used with the external hand held tool - according to the Service Manual that I have. And as you and others have noted, and as stated in the owners manual posted above by bhvrdr , you just need to drive the car following those steps. Do not use the "relearn" option on the menu - that actually defeats the automatic calibration temporarily.
