Default My Deposit is in with MacM, now what?

Hi All,
Wired my 3K returnable deposit to aMacMulkin today and got the confirmation that I am 665th in the list.
Does 120 allocations make sense based on about 1500 allocated to them last year?
aIts time to start chewing my finger nails then work my way towards my toenails
Anyone have any better suggestions?🤣

cheers!

How much did you check them out? What kind of questions did you ask before submitting your deposit. It sounds like you are asking questions and having concerns about what you should have asked them before the deposit.

You are safe with McMulkin!

Number 665 is approximately where they quoted me a few days ago.
I bought my 21 through them and it went perfectly.

Read some of the active posts about MM.

Nothing to do now but wait your turn. It'll come. Fer sure. The whole process will be painless, EXCEPT for the waiting.

Thank you, RedTag!
yes they were very upfront. Someone somewhere in this forum had used the word ‘surgical’ and that’s how it felt. They did talk about 80 to 160 allocations a month and so am trying to stay upbeat.
Thank you for the link🙂
cheers.

Wait, is the Stingray waitlist at MM down to like less than 6 months now?

Current estimate is around 3-6 months. Since allocation to delivery is running about 2-3 months, the realistic time is closer to 5-6 months.

That's crazy! Didn't know it was that quick. That's like one winter up here, would make the cold go by much easier.

I'm in the 640s, just in case I don't find a 23 off the lot with the options I want, on a couple of canceled deals lists there.

On top of that, I called around and found a dealer with no wait list. They claim to get 1-2 allocations every time they get previous orders delivered, so sometime in July with an 8 week delivery time from there. They didn't even want a deposit, just the ID, insurance and build details for MSRP + very fair doc fee. On their reviews online, the 8 weeks claim checks out but it feels too good to be true to me, am I overthinking this, what should I do to make sure they don't pull something shady at the last minute once the order is placed and I request a refund from MM?

Great news for C8 buyers. Got on the MM list 11/11/21 when the wait was around 12 months and took deliver at the museum 1 year and 6 days later. Whether it’s 6 months or 12 months, the wait is well worth it. MM really is the fastest way to a C8 with no BS.

The actual MacMulkin count for the 2023 model year is 1604, but that was over a 14 month time frame. They might get an average of 100 to 110 allocations per month for the 2024 model year but many of that 110 will be E-Rays and ZO6 allocations. I think you should figure about 75 to 80 stingray allocations per month. Still a huge number.

valid point, so are we saying that the wait list number is different by model? I thought they were clubbing them all into one

In the end, it is what it is and I get that much longer to enjoy my m4 convertible, just came back after a long ride and already starting to miss it…
who knows, it might take long enough to get allocated and built that I may not have to sell my M. But I digress, I intend to get clarification on wait list numbers by model from them. Out of professional courtesy, I don’t want to keep calling them very time I have a question, so trying to line up a few before the next call.
cheers.

With the 2023 MM had, they could even get MORE allocations in 2024. Not certain how fast GM reacts to that.

At this point, a 6 month delivery window will land you in the dead of winter. You would be better of with a 10+ month wait to take delivery in early Spring of '24. So no point counting the days. Just be happy you will have car in time for the nice weather next year.

I was planning on going with MM until I visited my local Chevy dealer. Placed my order with them at MSRP, no deposit, $850 doc fee on 5/16/23. On 6/20/23 I went Status 3000. I believe there are quite a few local dealers out there with nobody on a waiting list. You have to get lucky and find them.
