Installed a titanium catback and it’s too loud and droney
Any way to fix the drone? My friend mentioned welding in a heimholz resonator. It’s droney all across low revs, Especially around 2.5-3k. But it sounds good above 3.5k with higher load.
I like loud but this is not loud in a good way. It sounds like a gigantic motor civic.
Also installed a massive high wing and lowered on z51, super happy with these two.
Exhaust might be up for sale soon too

You'll go crazy trying to modify that exhaust to get it to where you'll want it.
It'll be less expensive and less headache in the long term to go with an exhaust that has actual mufflers like the AWE, Corsa, Borla, Holley.

Thanks for posting and giving an honest opinion. Was considering titanium but since I have hi flow cats and they make things louder I may go with GM Borla as I don't want things too loud, I think a valued exhaust is still worth having.
I had an Akropovic titanium and long tube headers on my c7 and loved it but not spending 10k on a c8 exhaust. Thanks again and hope you find your solution.

Before the C8 aftermarket systems were a lot cheaper. I always had corsas and was very pleased. I'd buy corsa sight unheard but before I selected another brand I'd do a lot of research, lot of videos and sound clips, user experiences out there and there's always a nice trip to Carlisle to hear them in person.

I think Akrapovic has the right idea by putting the valves and mufflers on their titanium setup. But, good Lord the cost. Titanium systems always sound a little more 'raspy' to me on any given setup and they seem quite prone to undesirable resonances. It's great to drop 50 pounds off the car but you've got to be able to live with it.

Beautiful stuff that borders on being art-ful. Having said that, if you are considering an aftermarket exhaust the first issue to resolve is drone. It is the primary failing of Fibber McGee engineering.

Does it drone badly even in track or manual mode? I.e., when it doesn't go into v4 mode.
I don’t have mufflers or resonators either and only v4 mode is “buzzy”. Otherwise no drone and sounds amazing.

There are doubtless many members here looking forward to your experience with the GM Borla, myself among them. Curious if you think it is enough of a step change over an NPP and how you like the fit and finish relative to the cost. Wishing you a smooth install process!
