New Corvette Stingray Orders - 3 Month Wait!

Melting Slicks
MacMulkin has earned their allocations, and sold at MSRP during 3 years of flipper nonsense to maintain and improve their market share.
I for one hope the system continues to penalize unscrupulous dealers. More if possible.

If local dealers had sold under sticker consistently during leaner years they would be getting more allocations now.

Does it seem pretty clear that Chevy's use of the Average Daily Supply model to determine future C8 allocations has hurt dealerships that allowed a C8 to sit on the lot because they were trying to sell it with an ADM, and helped dealers sold all C8s through 'sold orders" that went straight to a named customer? If so, that's a great thing! Maybe more dealers will sell for MSRP moving forward.

Having only a three month wait from deposit to delivery is absolutely amazing considering it wasn't that long ago it was at least a 12 month wait. to MM on making this happen.

MM didn't make this happen. High interest rates made this happen. It's great news. I hate flippers and this is death to flipping.

The question is, once on the list how much time till placing a deposit? Say three months and six months total time to delivery? That is definitely into the 2024 model year. I will wait to see the extra nannies and future price increase with a good probability of not going for it.

Credit to MacMulkin
Even though I will be buying a 2024 locally, I give credit to MacMulkin for sales and service . It's their effort and choice to work to become #1. It's also great they are letting the forum know there are 2023's available. Congratulations to them .

You are not wrong in regard to MacMulkin holding $500K in deposit money. But I think they do it to keep some sort of control on how much time they put into selling 1,500 or so Corvettes a year. If they asked for say $100.00 deposit to get on their list they would have 2,000 people on the list which in fact more than half are not very serious. I think asking $3,000.00 is reasonable for those who are serious.
Historically they are delivering between 75 to 150 Corvettes every month. They tell you exactly what number you are on their list, and update the list every Monday. When you get close to their next allocation they contact you to get your build. Then once they place your order and Chevrolet excepts it, then you can track the process through Chevrolet.

The way things work, it appears a dealer needs to sell Corvettes at less than MSRP during the lean years and particularly during the lean years experience the inventory cost burden of having a new unsold car(s) on the lot. It's dealers like this that really help GM keep their production lines running in the lean years. During the sun shiny years, the high volume dealers can reap large profits by selling volumes at MSRP only. Also, as interest rates go up, a large dealer with 1000 people on their waiting list with $3000 deposits can make a few bucks on interest from $3 million sitting in the bank!
