Stingray Chevrolet
My neighbor fell in love with my car and ordered one from Stingray Chevrolet here in Florida They are telling him about 2 years out and about 700 on order ahead of him. Is this for real? Seems unreasonable to me. I only waited 14 months from Criswell.

Well I ordered my C8 at 2 dealerships on July 6, 2020. I was 174 at dealer "A" and 334 at Stingray. By the end of February 2021 I was 130 at dealer "A" and 101 at Stingray. So I cancelled my order at dealer "A". I got my 3000 notice in March 2021 and picked up my C8 on August 18, 2021. However Stingray kept me informed all the way and they were getting 40 allocations a month but remember that period had Covid, chips, parts and labor delays as well and 4 weeks making right hand drive C8's. I would recommend them to anyone and there's a reason they're in the top tier Corvette dealerships and if they tell you to expect that wait time they're most likely being honest. Oh by the way in March 2021 GM announced a price increase. They did not raise my car's price and I paid MSRP with no added charges at all. Just saying!

Well, the wait is much shorter at MacMulkin. I got on their deposit list on 2/3/23 and I got an allocation 5/11/23. They initially told me I should get a car 4-8 months from deposit and now I’m looking at 5-6 months deposit to delivery. MM is telling people getting on the list now that their expected wait is 3-6 months. If he wants to establish a relationship with a local dealer, he can request a courtesy delivery. That’s what I did. But if he wants a car without a long wait, MM is the way to go. They are doing deals all over the country and non one can match their volume.

Try Don Mealey Chevy in Clermont, FL. They are taking preorders for 2024 at MSRP, I waited about 11-12-months for mine there.

Placed deposits at Stingray and Bomnin (Dadeland.) Started at Stingray at 368 and was at number 145 when Bomnin called to place my order into their open slot in Workbench. I like the Stingray dealership a lot and it's only about 45 minutes from me but Bomnin came through much faster.

I am 19 months in... Placed my order at my dealer back in Nov 21'. It isn't a huge dealer and they get 1-2 allocations a month (not every month) and there were 22 people in front of me. My allocation came up early March of 23' and I just went 3400 yesterday. My expected build is 5/22!

Call around. Some smaller dealerships have little to no wait for a SR allocation at MSRP.
Also check dealer inventories as well. Dave from Ciocca posts here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...at-ciocca.html
I was on a list for over 12 months with approx 8 months more to wait for an allocation
In March I started calling around and got added to other dealer's lists. I kept calling dealerships in my state and got an allocation that week. Car is now at 3300 with TPW 5/29.
Another dealer (one of which I got on they list in March) called last week with an allocation for me. They moved on to the next on their list.
So with a bit of effort you can get a car in a reasonable time frame.
Good luck

I was on their list for a while. I will say to their credit, very easy to deal with. When I took myself off of the list, I had a refund for my deposit the next day. All that they needed was a text message to cancel. I just so happen to find one with everything I wanted at MSRP at another location.

About buying a car from a distant seller. It appears that buying from a far away source and having the car trucked to your home is a reasonable option. I check a car transport company, and they quoted $1800 to deliver a C8 in an enclosed car carrier from the Bowling Green Corvette factory/museum to my front door. Metropolitan Los Angeles area. I'm planning on a museum delivery (A MM delivery option). If it's a bad weather time of the year, I'll go "visit" it at the museum and have it trucked home. Otherwise, I'll drive it back.

If your neighbor's completely inflexible about a dealer, he'll get... just as he's gotten.
