I find it interesting that the term 'nannies' is applied to safety features. The term itself is a pejorative.
I'm also impressed by the number of superheroes and gods on this board that can claim to have never made a driving mistake.
Unfortunately, many C8 owners, like myself, are mere mortals. We do make mistakes. And being mortal, anything that makes our driving safer, both for ourselves and for those around us, is of immense value. If I killed someone due to my error, I would have to live with that the rest of my life. That sounds like a life of horror.
So, I absolutely don't mind paying a few bucks more to reduce the chance that I would ever have to live with killing another.
Other's milage may vary, but I absolutely want that safety stuff!!!!!

Based on some replies I wonder how I have managed to not kill myself or someone else driving hundreds of thousands of miles over the past 40 years without blind spot alerts, emergency braking systems, lane keeping assist and the like. Seems like an impossible task according to some.

I waited 9 months after placing a deposit with MM last March 2022 and received my '23 C8 this past Dec 2022...

I dont need airbags either to be honest. I havent had a crash in nearly 30 years of driving for airbag use and I would do just fine without them for another 30 years.
Also, airbags are a safety feature for after crashes occur, not a nanny feature that supposedly prevents crashes (and takes control away from the DRIVER).
I dont mind airbags but I dont need nannies (airbags arent a nanny).
Nice strawman though.

Depends moreso on the Dealership and the number of allocations they receive per month...MacMulkin gets on average 120~130/mo...Small dealerships that only get 3~10 allocations per month and you're going to be waiting forever given your place on their waitlist!

Drifting
After three model years (2020>2023) the C8’s base price is up an average of $2k per year. I am on a list for a 992, a base coupe. The list is 18 months long. Porsche raised the base price for MY24, for the base Carrera by 9.4%, a whooping $9,950. I have been on the C8 list since 11/1/21, I sure hope I do not get pushed into MY24.
