I like the car, however the actual photographic merit of these shots is bland. Boring composition, overly harsh and misappropriated lighting, and they just don’t draw the viewer in. They just look like snapshots.

Center line distracts, pulls the eye away... too gray: black and white only works when the contrast is good. Lines on the car are distinctive and sharp... the softening doesn't work.... stop down to get greater depth of field.... longer lens would have provided a bit of compression.

Photos don't show up on my monitor.
WORKING NOW
In the first two, composition, the car should have been moved forward about 25' to eliminate the background tree sticking up out of the windshield. 3rd one the shadow of the car distracts in the B&W image.
Despite the photo shoot critique, enjoy your car.

Nice car, but not real impressed by the image quality.

Nice car, eh on the photos... and since everyone else is critiquing ill throw my hat in the ring as its kinda what I do for a living... blacks are crushed, focus and depth of field aren't great, grain is way over the top (if it was intentional at all). Shadows are way to dark, composition is meh at best. Photography (automotive especially) while subjective does have certain rules that separate good images from bad ones. As stated above, these seem to be phone edited snap shots rather than professional photos. The rear- forward shots are very bizarre to me in the fact theirs no real point of focus. Depth of field was way too shallow there. Black and white photos are indeed better with contrasting images but it rarely works in automotive photography and its a trope alot of younger or inexperienced photographers fall into to make their images seem moody or more artistic. That being said we all start somewhere and the only thing to do is keep asking for constructive criticism and learn from your mistakes. I have almost 20 years experience shooting cars now and I still ask for constructive criticism on every image that I take, its the only way we learn and get better.

Wow! The galley has spoken. I and photographer couldn’t agree more. The lighting was atrocious as it was an unplanned stop. He said as much when he took pics. I figured I would share with the forum anyway.
Challenge accepted. Stay tuned. Thanks for the feedback.

Beautiful C8! I'm not a photo buff in the slightest so no critique from me but I do like that you and the photographer did not take offense on here to others. Constructive criticism is sometimes hard to take but it's how we all learn. I look forward to seeing the next photos you all do.

I agree. Thanks for taking the critique of the photos. It is easy to take offense when someone asks for feedback and sometimes just wants validation of their choice or what they did.
I know when I took some "nice background" pictures of my C8Z that they were just snapshots and I didn't work hard to find the ideal location, best lighting. or do anything but use the phone's auto setting. I did work on the composition, but even there there was some great background and also some stuff (big rocks) that distracted from the photo quality.

Couldn't agree more. The feedback and critique was great and wasn't taken negatively which I see often on this site. I would love to see some images from those that have experience to share on here as good examples of photos. I particularly LOVE action photos where the car is crisp but the background is blurred in the direction of travel (excuse my lack of terms...I'm not a photographer either, but I enjoy good images/photos).
Again, great feedback and acceptance of feedback. We need more of that here and elsewhere!

I think the photo at the bottom shows a more interesting composition than the rest and it has the right idea. The C8 has very beautiful yet aggressive lines and composing a photo to accentuate the personality of its design can mean the difference between an engaging and interesting photo and an everyday snapshot. The last one has a nice flowing symmetry, but the lighting and shadows unfortunately subtract too greatly from its visual effect. As 4thC4at60 mentioned, the road lines are very distracting. No doubt the car is awesome and experimenting with your composition and lighting will really open a lot of possibilities on visual impact.
Myself I am a professional motorsports photographer and driver for 20 years, so I always look at a photo's composition to get an idea of what the photographer was going for.
