Travel In A C8
Could some of the C8 owners who travel/tour in their cars relate some of their experiences? From the beginning I have seen the C8 as an around-the-town-only car because of its limited storage space. Can an owner or two enlighten me regarding what its really like to go somewhere in a C8 that requires luggage?

4 10x10x20” soft side duffels and a shoe bag. Two up front, two behind. Shoe bag will go in either frunk or trunk along with the duffels. Have traveled five weeks on the road on a single venture. You will need to do some laundry if you’re on the road that long. See the USA in your Chevrolet.

I took one 2,700 trip from Houston to Fredericksburg, Van Horne and Tucson and then back through West Texas, Big Bend in Terlingua and Marathon, and back to Houston. First, the luggage room is more than adequate, although the back trunk gets to 135 degrees, so just a matter of packing for the front. The car is very comfortable, one thing people do not point out is the long wheel base. The car gets about 24mpg at 87mph which makes for extended stops (much of West Texas on I-10 is 80 mph speed limit). The C8 is more of a GT than sports car which is great for road trips.

My wife and I have and will travel with 3 carry on size bags. One brief case for computer and papers. About 2-3 shoe bags. I can get along with just 1 bag and my wife gets the other 2. We travel 2-3 weeks this way. She says she gets tired of seeing me ware the same shirt. Life.
For travel luggage get a C6, the car before we got the C8. 22 cu ft of room compared to 12 cu in a C8. C6 you can reach in back of you for hats, coats, snacks, ect. C8 it mostly all has to go in the frunk or trunk.
If you have not bought a car just take the luggage I described and pack like you are going for 2 weeks.

Wife and I did a drive from Phoenix to San Diego and stayed there for a few nights. Was easy as can be - and the drive was much faster than usual.

All one really needs is an airline carry on in the frunk.... that's good for a week. Stop, find a laundromat near a restaurant or restaurant with a bar, have some conversation while your clothes wash. Transfer clothes to dryer. Go back. Finish conversation. Go get clothes.... move on... life is good.

Sounds like if you pack right, the C8 will handle a long road trip just fine.

I bought a pair of these folding lawn chairs a few years ago when I had a Ferrari 348, as normal folding chairs would not fit in its frunk. Very comfortable as well with quality construction. We also take them with us on our motorhome trips.

The idea that the C8 has limited space for road trips is rather mind blowing to me. My wife and I have always been road trippers and this is what we’ve worked with in luggage space…
2023 C8 - 12.6 cf
2021 BMW Z4 - 9.9 cf
2016 Audi TT - 8 cf
2000 BMW Z3 - 5.8 cf
Simply put, we find the cargo space on a C8 a luxury. The C8 is an absolutely great Grand Tourer.

So I understand the question, We picked up at the museum March first and are still driving around Just over 2400 miles so far, So what I figured out as I am complaining there is no room for anything , I figured out this is a performance Super car, not a touring automobile, So we are Traveling with a soft rolling duffle bag, goes in rear truck kinda squished in on drivers side extending into passenger side, a backpack style laptop case the size to fit under and air plane seat That goes in rear trunk to right of duffle bag, then there is some areas to fill with my Sneakers and the other stuff ,we have a hard sided carry on bag that fits in the front trunk and on-top of that we have room to place our toiletry bags ,a jacket and some water bottles as the rear trunk gets real hot. and let me tell you I learned nothing is worse then using hot tooth paste, My wife keeps her back pack (size to fit under a air plane seat ) at her feet . We come from a C7 convertible and she claims she has more room on the passenger side than the C7 . Once you accept it was not designed to be a cross country cruiser and accept the limitations its all good , Once we get home I am going to see if I can get 2 smaller duffle for the rear trunk one for my wife and one for me as I don't like having to root thru her stuff and mess it up to find something to wear. I compete with Hand Guns and I have to figure out how I am going to be able to fit all my gear in this car, When I get it figured out I will share pictures, We went to the beach almost every day when I was in Florida and we had to use what we call car show chairs , they just fold up into a bag, Not ideal at the beach as they sink into the sand. the chair posted above looks like a good choice.

Limited storage space? I suppose when you think of it, every vehicle has limited storage space.
Compared to some vehicles I've owned, (Lotus Elise; 911) the C8 may as well be an SUV with regard to storage space.

I have packed motorcycles for years on road trips and any Corvette has more room. I even take lawn chairs on my bike & bicycle as I have chairs (compaclite or cascade mountain tech high back chair/costco) that totally collapse and fit on my bike.
