2023 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Front Tag ???
I live in a state where front tag is required and is an offense they can pull you for then nail you for secondary offenses, like dark tint.
I've been paying attention to a lot of "nicer cars" and near zero have front tags and darker tint.
I can't stomach putting a front tag on my C8 but I know if they pull me for the tag, they're gonna nail me for tint and will have to eat the fine for both.
What are the majority of you doing in states with front tag laws?

I run a front plate on all my vehicles since it is required by law. No need to give the LEOs a reason for making a stop.

I've put front tags on C2s,some C3s however never on any later Corvettes. Never been pulled over.

2022 C8 of the Year Finalist - Modified
I live in a state that requires front tags, but my C8 is the first car I didn't put them on. It looks too beautiful to mess up the looks with a license plate.

Nope. Only pulled over once in VA, but that was likely because I came up on the police car in my C6 at about 85. Got a small lecture, but never pulled it out of the trunk.

If you choose to display only a rear plate in a state that requires 2, at least carry the 2nd plate to show the officer if you are stopped.

Iowa is required to have them so I do, don’t need a reason for them to stop me in case I’ve had a few beers

2020 C6 of the Year Winner - Modified
To the OP's question, we have 4 vehicles and none have a front plate even though my state requires it. I've been stopped twice in 17 years, in different vehicles, one by a local LEO who literally sits on the same corner every morning at the same time & pulls vehicles over to look for other things. Was in our Wrangler JKU that came from the factory with a steel winch bumper with no provisions for a front plate. He inspected the bumper and agreed there was no place to attach a bracket or plate and said "well I have to give you a warning, but don't worry about it"
The second time was on the last day of the month on I45 south of Dallas, and there were honestly at least 10 Highway Patrol vehicles (either side of the highway) pulling vehicles over left & right. I was in our SUV. The LEO that stopped me had someone else pulled over when I went by him at least a mile before so there is no way he saw I didn't have a plate. Before he even walked to my window, he walked to the front of the vehicle looked for a plate then said "I stopped you for no front plate"
I apparently didn't fit the demographic he was looking for so he didn't even ask for my license and gave me a warning. He jumped back in his car and pulled over another vehicle before I could even merge back on the highway.
In my Z06 I get a lot of attention from LEOs. It's bright orange, big hood scoop, loud, race numbers on the doors. Once they realize I'm not driving like an ahole on public roadways, they drive by. I haven't seen one C8 with a front plate in my area, and there are a lot of C8s around here.

I live in Florida, one of the last free states …. No front plate required. But if it was required, I would definitely put it on my car. I only break laws if I am able to create a reasonable doubt about my guilt.

I'll run a front plate, like I did on my C7.
I just used rare earth magnets to hold it on so when I got to car shows and such, I could just take it off.
I put magnets behind the aeroplate and attached them to the license plate with 3M tape. Worked great and could even use it when I used my NoviStretch.
Kept me cruising down the road instead of sitting on the shoulder with Uncle LEO.

Nope. State I live in requires but I will not on certain cars I own where I don’t like the look. Never been pulled over in 20 years because of it.

WI requires it. Got pulled over for speeding, 23 MPH over. Because I was wearing a seat belt and had a front plate I got a warning. Ticket and increased insurance would have been very expensive.

I don’t run one in Oregon. Paid a couple tickets for not having one on my 02 saleen mustang. Never had an issue with my 17 Z in 4 years. No issue yet on my C8 since August. I did get a ticket when parked downtown Portland in my Raptor a few years ago. I think they just added it with my parking ticket.

Here in South Dakota, for an additional $25 I think it was, we can purchase "rear plate only" tags. The only limiting factor is that you can't drive the vehicle more than 7.500 miles a year, but for most Corvette owners, thats not a big factor.
