Default C8 exhaust sounds as good as the Mustang GT?

Everytime I drive my Mustang GT 5.0 through the work parking lot, many coworkers comment how great the exhaust sounds.

I am hoping C8's exhaust sounds as good, but from what I am hearing it is not. Would appreciate feedback, especially those C8 and Mustang GT owners.

Your asking for subjective opinions on sound preference. Im bot surecthat would be worth anything as opinions are all going to be individual.

Id suggest listening to bith for yourself so you can form your own subjective opinion

I've owned both including a GT350 and overhead cam engines sound different than push rod engines. Mustangs have always been the king of sound IMO ever since the 5.0 fox body. My C8 is really loud on start up and sounds really cool but going down the road it's quiet until you romp on it. But it still doesn't burble like the Mustang on deacceleration.

Mustang exhausts sound like they are gargling to me. Have not heard the Coyote exhaust.
GM V8 exhausts are much better sounding. Especially the C2 side exhausts.

Mustangs have stuck with the Flowmaster sound since the '80s. Nothing sounds better to me, although the Bullets on my '06 and '13 were great. Flowmaster just hits the right bass notes--but then, I'm tone deaf...even in the bad old days of gutless V8s, Mustang just did it best. When they came out with the '85 GT with Flowmasters, wow. But, obviously highly subjective. SLPs sounded great on F-Bodies, too. (F4Gary, we flew the same bird.)

Sounds good, folks. Looking forward to enjoying both exhaust sounds.

I think maybe you are referring to how loud the exhaust is. The C8 sounds good but is very quiet. It's only "good" at start up and after that is like a mouse unless you have your foot in it. The mustang on the other hand has presence just rolling by at idle. So if you want the C8 to be anything like your mustang is in the sound department you'll need to go aftermarket. The exhaust is the second most disappointing thing to me about my C8. The tranny is the 1st

Though I wish the C8 exhaust sounded as good as Mustang, it's not even close. But we can have everything.
I'm looking forward to hearing the Z06.

As much as I hate to admit it, the Mustang exhaust is absolutely music to the ears. Ford did it right with the exhaust on that car. To me, the C8 is not close to that good of a sound.

Simple answer in No. Mustangs have always sounded better than the Corvette IMO. The C8 is a bit quiet stock.

IMO, the Mustang exhaust note is better than all the chevy V8s. It has a nice rumble and more volume in stock form.

Unless GM changes the firing order of their V8's it will NEVER sound like a Mustang.

If you're in a parking garage it's loud and sounds good in track setting. My parking garage is like 7 floors and I think my c8 can be heard at least two floors up or down.

I own a 21 m6 GT with a Roush supercharger / x-pipe and a stock 23 z51 c8. The c8’s exhaust is way to quiet, in my opinion. I’ll be changing it out for something louder. My GT is pretty loud which I like.

It sounds like you have the best of everything and by the look of the list of your vehicles why would you even be interested in a C8? I don’t know about the sound of the exhaust but I am very impressed with what you have. Enjoy it and don’t expect the C8 to be in the same category with what you already own.

Always wanted a Vette, but now even more so with a supercar look. To me it's an affordable Ferrari.

Thanks for the good comment, JDSC8Vette!

I had a ‘19 bullitt and a ‘17 gt350…. With the stock valved exhaust and a simple resonator delete they sound incredible. Especially the 5.2 VooDoo screaming at 8250rpms. Hate to say it but the pushrod 6.2 in the c8s are not even close in that dept.
the z06 flat plane should sort that out tho.

The Mustang takes the sound comparison I’m afraid..

I agree. I willl have both. My Mustang GT stock was too quiet. So I added Borla stage2, not the stage 3 loudest... Too loud starting up... even a little too loud with top down, just right for me with top up... Others love it...
