If you are driving in sport mode and you shut off your car should the car be in sport mode the next time you start the car? If so how do you set this?
Mine defaults back to tour mode every time I turn off the car...thanks
If it don’t stay in sport mode then it must have been programmed to not to. Every C7 and also every C8 will stay in sport mode all the time.
My 2023 reverts back to Tour unless it is in MyMode. The 2023 owners manual states that MyMode remains active across ignition cycles. It is the only mode explicitly stated this way in the owners manual.
My 2020 stays in Sport mode when I restart my engine. However, the owners manual only states that My Mode will be retained. It appears that for 2023 they made the modes operate like the manual states.
Thanks everyone...I got my 2023 2LT Torch red/adrenaline red coupe two weeks ago after 18 months of waiting...so it looks like the 23's revert back to tour mode after shutting down...oh well still a fabulous car and yes worth the wait

Prior to the 2023 MY, if you shut the car off in Sport it would restart in Sport. That is apparently not true for 2023.

Try it again. EVERY other '21 I know of restarts in Sport if you shut if off in Sport, including mine.

Straight from the 2022 owner's manual (page 206-207):
Driver Mode Control Driver Mode Control (DMC) allows the driver to adjust the overall driving experience to better suit preference by selecting different modes. Drive mode availability and affected driver systems are dependent upon vehicle trim level, region, and optional features. Driver modes may include: Weather, Tour, Sport, and Track, along with two customizable modes: My Mode and Z-Mode. Driving and Operating 207 If the vehicle is in Tour or My Mode it will stay in that mode through future ignition cycles. If the vehicle is in any other mode, it will return to Tour when the vehicle is restarted.
There is no way to keep the car in Sport mode after shutting it down and restarting.
Can't speak for 2021 models, but it can't be done for 2022. It defaults to Tour if shutdown and restarted in any mode other than Tour and My Mode.
I have a 2022 3LT HTC, and I use Sport mode a ton and it always restarts in sport(for some reason I can't get the brakes to feel as strong in MyMode which is why I use Sport so much). You are correct in what the manual says, but my car obviously can't read!

I will try this when I take my car out tomorrow afternoon and see if it stays in Sport after I shut it down and start it back up. Thank you
In my experience thus far, it always goes to Tour when shut down and restarted from any other mode than Tour and My Mode (I keep my car in My Mode 99% of the time).
I don't understand why some cars - with the same model year - stay in sport mode and some do not. The modes my 2022 will stay in when restarted are Tour, MyMode and Sport. Could it have to do with options (Z51) or settings?
Wow this blows my mind in a way. Never have I had any issue with this I drive in sport all the time and never have to change it back to sport when I make stops and start the car back up. It can sit for awhile in the garage I go to drive it starts up in sport. Now if i ever hit the Z mode on and then back off it reverts to touring. So I can imaging in this mode turn car off it will default to touring.

I have tried it several times, it will not restart in any mode other than Tour or My Mode.
Here's page 207 out of the owner's manual for a 2021. Last column, above the picture.
Maybe there was a software update that changed it, but mine will not do it.
