Well it has been getting a rude awakening for a while now. But C8 prices haven't necessarily tanked. But, GM is pumping C8s out in record numbers now so of course the market will get very saturated in a couple years. You figure most people aren't ready to trade in a car that's two or three years old now. But wait until the C9 is unveiled, or C8s get to be a bout 5 to 6 years old.

I'm aware. I was in a C7 thread and the ATROCIOUS mobile website will just scroll right into "related threads" when you get to the bottom of the page. So I scrolled right out of a c7 thread and into a c8 thread. Awful system. My reply is N/A to this thread.

I don't think prices are tanking either but dealers are negotiating instead of being my way or the highway. 1LTs are MSRP or less with plenty of dealers, although there are still a few dealers in fantasyland are asking for $20K over perhaps to settle for at least some kind of markups. Some 2LTs are $5K over with possible negotiating, some at MSRP but seem to be scarce compared to the 2 other trims. The 3LTs seem to be the last of the titans with much as $20K+ over and $100K+ prices making them just as expensive as the low end portion of Z06s official MSRP.

As I mentioned before I am on a waiting list but I am still looking in case of a remote possibility I find what I have in mind. I have made many calls and I can say if I would be willing to settle for a Vette with less or different options or the color I have in mind, I would have posted photos of my ride by now. It is not a perfect scenario for buyers at the present time but there are half decent deals out there.

Correction: I should have mentioned my reference on this post is about NEW not USED which in many cases are better deals than buying used Vettes.

Have not heard of a single dealer selling a new C8 at less than MSRP. If that has been happening someone would be starting a thread to crow about getting a C8 at 5 or 10% off. Not happening. Dealers around here, and private sellers are asking for MSRP for used or maybe a couple grand off of used but those cars end up being 2020's with a lot of miles on the clock.

Tanking was a poor word choice
Softening market is more appropriate.

I've been periodically checking the pre-owned market for a while. I haven't seen any drastic drops in asking price. The best deals seem to be on 2LT and 3LT , selling very near MSRP.

The worst deals by far , are on the 1LT . Asking price is still around $74k - even for 2020.

Still many people who bought the base model 2020 1LT for $60k trying to flip their C8 for a major payday .

Imagine paying $74k for a used 2020 1LT

Present market.
Used C8 cost more than new MRSP C8.
All those that will buy ,used ,raise your hand.
That is why you see a lot of C8's sitting on used
car lots. Things will change they always do.

Look at HENDRICK'S CORVETTES for an example of very high prices

Yeah, these sellers are DELUSIONAL with the prices they are asking. Either that, or most of these private sellers are only listing these high prices while they continue to drive it and enjoy it .... while they wait for the right sucker to show up so they can bank a big profit.

If you look on AutoTrader at any given time, there are between 2,000 to 3,000 C8s 'for sale'.

Ridiculously overflooded market, yet the sellers haven't really budged a whole lot.

At least not in public.

I don't think dealers will advertise or acknowledge if they make sales without a ridiculous mark up, they would be shooting themselves on the foot if they did. They will try to keep the parade going as long as possible.

Looking for a 1LT and being somewhat impatient waiting for an allocation, I've been looking at used somewhat. Found 2 different 2022 1LTs within about 2 hours from me. After looking up their window stickers, found one was priced a little over $10k more than sticker, and the other was about $15k over sticker. For a used car which was cared for, and broken in how?? I just hope the 2024 prices don't jump much, since getting a 2023 allocation doesn't appear likely.

Wow do you think this could be due to the area they are in? I would think the market in certain areas would drive or hold at some higher values. I do not think I'm ready to sell I just love the car but have thought about it because I want to buy another piece of land. I hope the market is still strong when I do but not expected to get much over sticker or any at all. I have money tied up in mods that you never really get back out of any car so maybe when if I sell the rims would be only thing I'd take off and put OEM's back on.

Yes, GM is pumping out C8s, however keep in mind that the '23 model year has been extended which accounts for much of the current high production #s for the 2023 model year. Also, the Stingray is now sharing the BG production line with Z06 and soon eRay if not already which will cause the still very popular Stingray production to decline even though demand is still high. IMO, we start to see Stingrays become more difficult to get and ADM increase in the coming months.
