That is high but call him and maybe he will knock off some on the next change...Wait till you have to changes the trans fluid
.. I have heard anywhere from $600-800???
I paid $84,000 for my car and only change the oil once a year...Its worth it to me and I am getting to old to slide under a car. ..Suppose you cross thread the filter or plug??
I love doing my own work but as Clint use to say....A man has got to know his limitations??? I know mine

Reminder for the DIY owner...you'll need a larger capacity oil drain pan if you're draining yours for the first time.

Anything over $0 is too much.
Another reason for purchasing local for me. Aside from all of the obvious and previously stated reasons, my local dealership provides LIFETIME FREE oil changes on ALL new vehicles they sell. It offsets the MSRP price I paid - NO markup aside from the standard dealer fee they charge on all models of vehicles they sell.

That is dexos2 certified and is OK for the C8.

There is an European formula that isn't dexos2 certified so you need to be careful. The ESP X3 version is dexos2 certified.

I won’t touch a car unless it’s has full service records…. Including oil changes.
Recently looked at car that had zero service records for the first 45,000 miles. Probably a lease. A receipt from KMart for oil isn’t good enough.

Absolutely do it yourself... the C8 has got to be the easiest vehicle I've ever owned to change oil/filter. You need a ratchet/socket set, oil, filter, filter wrench and a drain pan to catch the oil. You need a flat/dry spot to work and a floor jack/stands to support the car. In 4 or 5 oil changes (DIY) you'll pay for the tools.... especially with some dealers at $250+ for this service. Oh, you'll need one more thing..... "righty tighty, lefty loosey!"
