Default Assembly Plant Closing

Corvette Assembly Plant will be closed next week due to supply chain issues and parts shortages.
Week of Oct 17th

Ugh... Normally I don't keep track of this so closely but for those that are in the queue (along with me), this is nerve-racking

Isn’t this the 3rd time in 6-8 months. Definitely looking more like a 2024 Z06

That sucks. Happened in the middle of my car being built, delayed my museum delivery by 3 weeks.

Those of us whose TPWs were set and then were delayed by a tornado feel your pain.

Not surprising. They’ve only built around 150/day this week. Good sign parts are getting scarce.

They shutdown on September and it delayed my car around 2 weeks. It just sucks.

First I've heard of this. Thanks for the info. Not the first time this has happened and probably won't be the last, as it seems like this is just the way it is for C8 production and many other things as well the past few years. Sorry for everyone who gets delayed but hopefully it will be easily forgotten once you get your new car.

Its a bummer for those who are close but have another delay. I'd suggest alcohol but that only a temporary reprieve. Hang in there.......... its a great reward when you sit in that baby the first time......... smell that interior and use the best feature......... that thing under your left foot!

I was caught up in the early changeover from MY21 to My22. Delayed my car by over a month and forced me to order the more expensive 22. No regrets however....

Nuts! Tentative TPW was 10/24…guess it’s looking like a Halloween build now. Trick or treat? Guess we will see!

Another 10/24 TPW that won’t happen now. Last time around, the factory followed with really stepped up production to partially make up for the delays. Hoping this only pushes the builds back a week. OY!

happened to me a few times for my 21'. Pushed my car back a total of 3 weeks or so from all the shutdowns. Don't get excited about your c8 until it's in the driveway.
