Default Any C8 owners make the jump straight from C5?

Anyone make the leap from C5 to C8? I have a C5Z06, and am curious if any C8 owners had this car prior and leaped to C8. If so, would appreciate your thoughts around the new car experience, which presumably is light years different...

Thanks.

I went from a 2002 C5 Convert to a 2020 C8 HTC. The main difference is that I did many things to soup up the C5's performance but have not felt the need at all for the C8. This may be due to my additional years on the planet - but it's also because the C8 has such tremendous performance. Did have to replace the C8 exhaust with a somewhat louder Billy Boat system. There are very few similarities except for the name. I really enjoyed the C5 and the C8 is the most fantastic car I have ever had.

Not exactly, but I went from a long term C3 to a long term C5 to a C7 three years ago. The C5 was light years ahead of the C3...the C7 more evolutionary I'd say. Can't comment on the C8. All mine have been manual...if your C5 Z is a stick, you may miss it.

Went from a headers and cammed c6 z51 to the C8 z51. The C8 is a better car and it isn’t even close. Even more so over the c5 cars that I drove and that includes the z06. The C8 is so linear in power delivery and more refined. The interior alone is light years ahead of the c5 much less everything else.

I went from C4 to MB. My C4 was 1985 and underpowered and too big. My gf worked the same building and her MR-2 could beat me home every time. At about 5 years my C4 started overheating and due to terrible mechanic, suffered all sorts of engine problems. Also I kept it too long until 2000 so grew to hate everything about it. I swore I would never own a Corvette again. Tried C5, C6 etc. Bought a MB SLK350 in 2005 and was very happy. That car was perfect. Traded it for C8 and I was a bit unhappy to see the SLK go but the C8 is unbelievable. A poor (well not rich) man's supercar.

I have had 3 C5’s last one 04 vert A4 pro charged headers X pipe Borla likely faster in the 1/4 mile than my 23 HTC C8
The C8 is light years different better overall engineered to be a first class sports car. 3,000 miles now and do not miss the shifter cars.
The only thing I miss is the noise IMHO the C8 cars are too quiet.

I had C4 road race car 4 years
C4 DD 5 years
C5 road race car 12 years
C6 good weather car 8 years
no C7
next is C8 for good weather days, will probably have it for 10 years, cannot afford another new one.
C5 is so easy to work on, and plenty of performance parts are available. I think most people will leave the C8 stock since it is much harder to work on.
A few years down the road, that may all change.

Went from ‘04 C5Z w/ headers, intake and tune to a 2015 supercharged SS 6-speed, to the 2021 C8 Z51.
The C8 in its stock form is the best car I’ve had so far. I’m not sure I want to give it up for the C8Z.

I went from a 2002 C5 Z06 to my 2023 Z51 coupe. The C8 is so much better in every way except the weight (C8 is very heavy) and no manual trans, however the DCT is just awesome in how fast it shifts.

Bought my 04 CE vert new and sold it in August of 21 after ordering my 22 htc. Loved my 04/was a great car.
Don't miss the six speed at all.
Just hope the 22 is as reliable as the 04.
Did ron fellows last month and the car is so much better than me and what I thought. Thoroughly enjoying it!

I jump from a C5 FRC to a C8 Z51. Kept the C5 which is a manual 6 speed. The interior feels about the same, size wise, except for no space behind you for the wifes small bags. Either it goes in the frunk, trunk or on the floor in front of her.
A normal drive about town feels about the same. I supercharged my C5 so power is hard to compare since it is not stock. The C8 is definitely quicker and faster than a stock C5. If I had to label anything as light years difference it would be the technology and the C8's handling. The C8 is very stable where the C5 can kick the rear-end out from under you scary fast.

I made the jump. You won't be disappointed.

Still have the c5 and still enjoy driving it as well.

Maybe coming in from a C4. Been on Criswelll's waiting list since Nov. '21.
Still deciding whether to pull the trigger.
Regardless of my decision, I plan to keep my C4 - its a bit of a unicorn.

I took delivery of my 2001 C5 in October 2000. Sold it in July 2021 to take delivery of my '21 C8. Impressions are while I liked the C5 the C8 is night and day, head over heals a quantum leap ahead of the C5. I am 75 years old and plan to keep the C8 a long time - my estate will sell it.
