Default What does your spouse do at Ron Fellows?

We are going on December 1&2 and my wife asked me what there is to do when I am at the class. Is there shopping or a spa, or ??? nearby?
Thanks!

Shopping? Spas? I guess you have never been there! Lol. Pahrump is a small Nevada town, over a mountain from Las Vegas, about 45 min away. There are a couple of good restaurants, one at a winery, and a steakhouse at one of the few casinos. There are your normal stores of a smaller town. There are some facilities at the track in the condo facilities, but not like a 5 star full service resort. Spring Mountain is about performance driving. Wives can join in in the classroom, and can do laps with the instructors if they choose, but never can ride in cars with students......no distractions. If warm, there is a pool, etc. I was there in Feb and it was 35 in the morn......barely made 45, and we had to wait to drive to warm up slightly. Once my C8 delivers, I can't wait to go again. Best $1k you will spend on your Vette!

Mine did not drive or ride along ("too scary") or participate in any way. She just relaxed in the condo, went to the onsite gym and read in the clubhouse. She enjoyed the downtime.

She was hanging out with some of the other spouses last time. She will be driving this time while I support her.

My wife went to the first class with me and then spent the rest of the time at the hot tub-pool with some other wives. She met me for lunch everyday and went to one of the local casino's where she won 800 bucks. She really enjoyed the experience and loved the trip around the track with the instructor.
We then spent the next two and a half weeks heading north visiting national parks. We figured we would make a three week vacation out of the whole experience so the Ron Fellows experience was just a small part of the trip.
I would highly recommend taking your wife and include something else in the trip that you can enjoy together.

My wife attended the classroom sessions and rode with the instructors each track session and a couple while we were in the class. On our way out of the gate after the school was done her comment was we need to come back. I'm gifted that she's a car nut, too. We have 46 years together.

Like some others my wife took the course along with me. Set every female course record in the class (only female in the class). Helped her overall ability to comfortably and safely drive the C8.

My wife rode with the instructor and sat in the class with us. The resort is nice to hang out if the weather is okay.

We visited some friends who were staying in town a few years, went out to watch the activity on the track. They day we were they were running motorcycles. We did a little exploring in the neighbourhood and found this fascinating place that I would go back to. http://www.chinaranch.com a unique historical place in the desert, maybe a few of the ladies could make a day trip out of that trip.

Just a thought.

My wife caught up on paperwork as she is a Dr. ,hung out at the pool, met me for lunch each day and went for a couple hot laps with an instructor which she really enjoyed. The condo is decent and there are a few restaurants you can drive to. We then hit Las Vegas for a couple nights after the course. She had a great time and our plan is to go back and do the level 2 course as well. I skipped the beginner course and went straight to level one which was the intro to lapping...it was awesome!

Default Sheries ranch

Take your wife to dinner at Sheries ranch. You can have a nice dinner and watch all the guys come in and select women etc. This is not a joke. We did this when I was there and it was quite a show.
