HTC tonneau cover and transparent engine bay cover
I recently installed a 7 piece polished stainless steel kit under my convertible tonneau cover and 1 for the frunk from American Car Craft. I have a piece polished stainless steel under the rear trunk lid. Also have a transparent engine bay cover from Rapid Rev and intake manifold cover from American Hydrocarbon.

What a waste of time. Adding unnecessary weight to a sports car.

The vent in the HTC opens directly to the engine bay. There is a seal around it that separates it from the space above engine bay cover. That space above the engine bay cover (original or clear, doesn't matter) is where the retracted top is stored. So it is very well protected from water ingress.

People customize there Corvettes all the time with stuff under the hoods and trunks. Ever been to a car show?. Besides I have never tracked the car , or done an Autocross with it. I have been to Ron Fellows Performance Corvette Owners Driving School.

Not something I'd do, but to each his own. Some people add a bunch of aero pieces that have no impact a street speeds, and add weight. Some people chrome their wheels. Some people put larger wheels on the car which likely weigh more than the stock ones and are for style only. It's his car, and if the mods make him happy that's all that matters.
You do you, and let others do their thing. The C8 is hardly lightweight car to begin with. If weight is an issue, start shopping for a Lotus.

why do you have a tow hook hanging off the back?

I like the way the reflective surfaces on the underside of tonneau cover provide additional views of the exposed engine bay. I have an HTC. Too bad GM doesn't make the actual intake plenum more attractive, so that a decorative cover is not necessary.

I have one on the front as well. They are fully functional/rated not cosmetic. Have them mainly because I like the look. Also tow hooks are mandatory when tracking the car at All racetracks. The Frunk storage cover in photo is from AMT Custom Designs. Fluid cap covers from American Hydrocarbon.

Wasn't questioning what they're used for , they're tow hooks, the name is self explanatory
How often have you tracked the car?
I guess I don't understand why you want the look of needing to be towed while not at the track. But as they say, your car, that's all that matters.

Some like the looks the the tow hooks and I understand that. The only issue I have with running them all the time is the case of a low speed collision (car backing in to you for example). All the force going only on the tow hook has a much higher chance of causing frame damage than if the bumpers were allowed to do their job and possibly prevent any damage done to the frame.
BTW, love the look of the engine cover and clear bay cover. Thinking about going that route after my car gets back from the shop (due to a vehicle backing in to my front end at slow speed). Maybe my diminished value claim will pay for that
