Default Squeak in the seat back 2021 C8

2LT trim standard GT seats. When seated in the drivers side bucket and belted in place any body movement results in a plastic on plastic squeaky sound. Best can tell it’s coming from the top right side of the seat back about 8” from the top. Even when driving with the radio on can hear often enough it’s getting to be unacceptable. Anyone else experience this? Tightened the four bolts on the back of the seat really didn’t help any at all they were pretty snug already. Has anyone also removed the leather cushion part of the seat from the back plastic frame? Think a dab of RTV on any white spots where there has been rubbing would cure the issue.

Take it to the dealer. Not hard for them to fix.

To help isolate the source, drape a towel over the back of the seat. If the noise stops, it's rubbing between the seat back and the car. If not, it's likely in the seat itself.

My '23 C8 has all sorts of interior creaks and pops.... will "just live with them" until they get unbearable - though, I will mention them to my Vette service advisor of the last 26 years.....

Wow I've had a 20 coupe and a 22 HTC and no rattles at all except the rear window in the HTC.

Mine's a coupe, but I think most of my pops and creaks come from the back window as well...

I too have a noise. But it’s like a slap when I go over a jarring bump. It seems to be behind my head, it it an ugly noise. Some people early on had issues with the HTC not closing properly, and it was due to misaligned cables. In my mind, I’m hearing those cables slapping against the top. But two here state it the back window. Hmmm.

My C7 seat-back started squeaking after a few years and I used silicone spray with an extension "straw' on the nozzle to get to everything that I could reach that might move against anything else. This because no matter how or what I tried I (and another person) could not adequately localize it. After a couple tries I either got it or it ended by itself. I'm sure this wasn't the only seat GM has sourced that had or does squeak. Just a thought... All the best.

My passenger side seat belt guide popped out. I clicked it back in that's what did it for me
