Found this add in my local area for a C8.R. I am hoping the price is a typo
Why hoping it's a typo are you considering buying it?
It's their car, they can ask whatever they want for it. Not sure why some get all bent out of shape over what's being "asked" for C8s.

not bent out of shape and no I’m not buying it. I don’t like silver. I just never expected to see someone trying to sell a base C8 at that price. If they sell it more power to them.
They saw the prices C8-R's went for at Barrett-Jackson a while back and are just assuming they can ask the same. It will sit there til the Apocalypse at that price as it should.
They are likely just trying to deter tire kickers with a crazy listed price so that only people aware of the current market and the likelihood of paying over MSRP for a used C8 bother inquiring.
I highly doubt they expect anyone to even offer close to that.
A lot of dealers just like to have one sitting in their showroom as an attraction. They price it high in the event someone comes in that just has to have one regardless of price. If not it's an attraction that might bring in purchasers of other vehicles.

Umm, Not really a base C8 being a 3LT, C8R, 1 of a 1000. Still out there on the money. Many of these for sale right now in and about $135. Hope they get what they want. There's a sucker for every seat!

what I meant was it’s a stingray and not a Z06 so in a sense it is the base model

One can ASK whatever they want for anything... who cares?
