Got hit on my c8 :(
Got hit in my way to work on Friday. Some Idiot backed up into me at a stop light. His excuse was that he was trying to merge into the turning lane..so he decided to back up, didn’t see me behind me and bam! Messed up my whole front end. Anyone know know if that’s some type of mount or if it’s the frame itself bent? Would appreciate some feedback and what not going forward since I know if they replace everything it won’t be as good as new 🤦🏽♂️.

Not defending the idiot, but beware the C8's design being so low to the ground makes them less visible to others - especially monster trucks. I leave extra distance when stopping in my C8 to make sure that I am visible in the car in front's rear mirror plus it gives me extra room to get away.

Definitely a trailer hitch. Hope you had your PDR on...
Sorry though. I know the feeling, I'm in the same boat right now with mine. I was rear ended a few weeks back. C8 was not even 2 months old
BTW what front splitter is that? Is it the C7Carbon splitter?

I am so sorry man, that is just terrible but what's important is that you are ok. cars can be fixed/replaced, people cant. Obviously this is on their insurance, I would just find the best body shop in town, in my experience, find the guy who owns his own body shop and works alone, nobody else works for him...those are the best guys, maybe even find one who does specifically vettes or high end cars...fortunately I have never had to fix a vette but some idiot drive into the back of my wife's escalade esv when we were on vacation one year, took it to the Cadillac dealership I bought from (one of if not the largest in IL) only because it was an insurance deal and their body shop sucked, took to my uncle who has owned/operated his body shop for 60+ years, works all alone (and is a vette guy) and he pointed out like 20 things the dealership fucked up and had me take it back there.

Man that hurts. Sorry that happened to you. At least you’re not hurt.
hopefully no frame damage and you get it back as soon as possible.

If anyone does something that stupid and ends up damaging one of my cars I'd be severely tempted to get out and punch them in the nose 😁. Yes I know it'd only lead to more trouble hence the "tempted" part. There just seems to be a growing pandemic of stupidity on the roads.
OP, I do hope your car gets repaired correctly, and it won't hurt to look into a "diminished value" award from his insurance company.

definitely going that loss of value path if they decide to do repairs.

Oh that really sucks. Sounds like the culprit didn't cut and run, so that helps.

Sorry about that! In 1997 I was stopped at a stop sign behind a van. She started backing up and just stopped short of my windshield even with me blowing the horn. I had cars behind me and no where to go.
the police come and think I re-ended the van, at least she admitted that it was 100% her fault.

Good luck on the diminished value claim. I'm having lots of trouble claiming mines since the car is too new and there's no tools to value the car at the moment. I even had a Chevy used car manager submit pre and post accident values for the car and the insurance companies said it wasn't good enough to justify a claim.

I hope you got it recorded somehow that he's taking the blame, or a witness who saw... A good insurance agent on HIS part would say that YOU rear ended him. After all, why would he be backing up at a stop light. ... ... YOU hit HIM and now his back, and neck are sore!
