Default OEM Black Tips After Purchase

I know that the 23 has a new option for the black exhaust tips which requires NPP. However, does anyone know if these tips bolt on? I have a family member who just picked up their 23 which was a converted 22 order and wants to put these on.

Good question, as not sure they will fit as photos indicate that the outlet pipes for the black are a larger diameter than the chrome for some reason.

Only way to get new exhaust tips is to cut off the old ones and weld on new tips, which is a lot of work for something very minimal.

The tips on the prior exhaust are welded on. I strongly suspect these are, too.

Personally, I prefer the bright tips as the black seem to get lost among the black surrounds etc. I expect that may have been a reason why GM made the black exhaust tips larger.

The chances of a pedestrian muffler shop welding new tips on correctly is 50/50. Generously so. A amateur owner doing it in their home garage even less so. So the odds of a positive outcome aren't all that favorable.

With arc welding, there is no mulligan.
