Default Roof Storage Issue

I want to take the roof off of my C8 coupe and actually take it with me to car shows in case I need to reinstall. Trouble is putting the roof in the storage area means no small camp chairs. So I assume I either travel with the roof in place and take my chairs (for forget the chairs and stand all day at the car shows. I never thought it would come down to that. The frunk is good for a cooler, blanket and jackets. Too narrow at the bottom for chairs. Any suggestions other than by a HTC if that even works or get a different car. I’m happy with the corvette

Can you remove the roof after you get to the show? Of course your not enjoying driving the car with the wind blowing in etc...My car is a 2020 and believe it or not I've yet to have to have my roof off!....Even when I'm out to a cars-n-coffee, I always have a fold up chair in the back so I can sit when I arrive..Maybe the top will clear just the chair sitting back there and I can try driving with it off once in a while..

"travel with the roof in place and take my chairs"

Remove top at show and stow in trunk once chairs removed. Reverse procedure to return home. Sounds like this will do it!!

I’m not sure any advice here on the forum can solve your spatial conundrum. It is what it is. Only you can decide if you leave the top at home and roll the dice on the weather, or leave the chairs at home and stand. Personally, I’d stand because I love driving topless, but as others have said I wonder if you need to shop for smaller or more foldable chairs or re-evaluate your stowing procedure. I remember getting a lot in past coupes along with the top.

This is one of the many reasons I got a HTC.

Does anyone make an emergency soft top to cover the opening if you left the hard top at home (and brought your chairs)? We have a few Jeep Wranglers and there are a few manufacturers that make soft tops and even “emergency” tops to cover the opening created when you leave the freedom tops (t-tops essentially) at home. Which happens all the time, because if you have a hard top, there is no where to store it in the vehicle.

Good stuff and all true. Making choices is the way but I won’t go without the top as one never knows. I’ll figure it out I’m sure. It’s not the worst problem is it?

Put the little chairs in the FRUNK.

Heck, we travel with the chairs AND a foldable Umbrella WITH the top stored in the rear hatch area. Just find the right chairs.

Corvette03051, seems you really struggle with quoting other's post every time you try. All you have to do is select the "quote button in the lower righthand corner of the post you are trying to quote and the post you are trying to quote appears for you to add your comment.
Hope this helps.

As others have said, the solution is finding the right chair. Something like this:

I agree, the above seems to be a solution.

Related, here's the roof storage bag that comes when you order the dual roof option (painted and tinted tops). You can also order it separately during your build without the dual roof option. I'm surprised how good quality it is and is an excellent storage solution to keep your roof from being damaged when not on your C8.

What we really need is an extra roll up soft top.
Here are takes on how it was done by Alfa and Lotus.
Using the latches from a salvage hatch and canvas fabric how be sufficient to keep water from getting inside in a pinch.
It could be rolled up and thrown in the frunk, taking up the space of a backpack.
Lamborghini and Ferrari have also made emergency soft tops for their special roadsters. They don't have to be super pretty, just easy to stow in case of emergency.

FWIW the convertible is the most practical C8.

We have two PICO Arm Chairs that fit perfectly in the frunk along with a cooler and jackets. We used this combination for a full season at Road America last summer and the chairs held up very well. We use the trunk in our HTC for a pop-up canopy and detailing supplies. From Amazon:

I think if you have a warm day and the forecast calls for no rain leaving the top home would be a good idea.
I agree with others about getting the HTC if you enjoy driving with the top down a lot because it has no effect on the trunk. I don’t drive with the top down much and probably only did it 4 or 5 times in three Summers with my C7 so for me it made no sense.

Short term option but not meant to be used while driving. I like the compact chair option posted by @Chuck Mahnke better

Also have two of these PICO arm chairs. And as indicated above two will easily fit in the frunk. Nice sturdy chairs with easy to carry storage bag.
