Default how long from deposit to ordering a C8?

I have had my deposit at a local Chevrolet dealer for 14 months and literally have not advanced to the order stage. I have been told that I am 17th in line and have not moved at all. This dealer gets as many as four Corvettes per week and they are continually calling me with an offer to buy a Corvette from "their allotment" for $30K over sticker. Any advice?

Advice is to find another dealership. Sounds like they're giving their allocations to customers willing to pay over MSRP. Most MSRP dealers are quoting 12-18 months at this point.

You didn't mention if you were offered an allotment at MSRP or not. If there's no movement at all for over a year, get your deposit back and move on to one of the other top 3 Corvette dealerships that sell at MSRP. At least, you'll probably get some movement there due to the volume of Corvettes they sell. Good luck with your purchase.

They are obviously using their allocations for retail stock and adding the markup. Go with one of the top 3 dealers. At least you know you won't be dicked around. Unfortunately, you will be starting fresh with most likely an 18 month wait from deposit date, but that will most likely still be much quicker than your current dealer.

that's misleading. That was if you were on their list back in the Spring of 2021. Wait times at all the major volume dealers have almost doubled to about 18 months now. (Remember, the Z06 is coming this summer and will be taking as much as a 35% bite out of base allocations).

I recommend you get your deposit back and get on MacMuklin and/or Criswell's waiting list.
The math just doesn't add up for you being 17th in line for 14 months for a dealership that gets 4 allotments per week or 16 per month. They are just stringing you along.

Well I just mentioned my personal experience...I didn't make any claims to future timelines, but yes its very likely it will be much longer now.

It’s hard to be real accurate in this environment but we are thinking 12 to 15 months at this point.

I was about 12 months with Russ Carter at Criswell. Was in no hurry and I had no regrets. Russ is down home good at his job.

It did help I was driving a new Shelby GT 500 during the wait. 😄

Just sent MM my deposit they said I would be around 1500 and they get allotted 100 to 160 cars a month. They also quoted me 10 to 12 months. I’m ok with that. At least get it msrp, exactly the way I want. Going to sell my Porsche. Interesting to see how fast it sells.

Yah, you've got to get the information from your Chevrolet dealer.

Default C8 deposit

Thanks, the Forum always comes through with great info. I put in a call to the general manager for an explanation, mentioning that I put this on the Forum, and pending his reply I will go with a bigger volume dealer and get my deposit money back.

You got screwed over by your dealer selling to people at $30k over MSRP. Here is the advice you should follow from the guy at the dealership where you should send at least one of your deposits:

To be fair, I had a deposit with Ciocca in 2021 but Rick Hendrick in Duluth, GA's wait list was much shorter and I had my C8 sitting in my garage when Ciocca called me to order my C8. I haven't bought anything from Ciocca but I know they are honest and sell at MSRP. I also had a deposit at MacMulkin at the same time.

I waited 10 months from order to delivery at my small local dealer. He got three allocations in 2020, one in 2021 and three in 2022. I can’t imagine your dealer is being honest with you and you need to find another one.
