Some cars photo well and other just don't seem to. Your thoughts?

Even good (un-touched) photos taken in excellent light don't typically seem to fully capture the full beauty of the C8. Of course C8 photos can be enhanced/photo-shopped to the MAX to look any way you want. We often see examples of that on this forum.
You know what I mean, when you see a C8 photo and you know the car doesn't actually look anywhere near that good.

Post C8 photos that you feel prove the point either way.

I took this phot last night with one of my Ballerina Friends. I lite the car with (2) Flash Strobes and a 3rd one on the Model. I think the C8 has beautiful lines and photographs great....but as others have said I still think it looks better in person. Just today I was at the Auto-X and I have never in my life had so many people ask me about the car I was driving/racing nor so many that actually wanted to take a photo of it...and this is my 6th Corvette!

I have always said this since day 1 of seeing one in person, the C8 does not photograph well at all unless you hit that "perfect angle". Seeing them in person, they always look much better.

Agree C8 looks much better in person. there's some cars that go the other way.

The reason I brought this up is that I've always thought this seeing MANY C8, however going out to dinner the other evening my wife and daughter saw their first C8 in person and both were amazed how much better it looked as opposed to the many photos they had seen of C8s.
They finally seem a little excited that I will be receiving mine soon. Before it was like 'so what'.

I think that's been true of Corvette's since the C5. They don't photograph all that well like the old (C2/C3) ones did, but in person look very good.

The C8 is pretty striking in person.

I also think it's partly a frame of reference thing. All the pics here are of C8s so we're always comparing them to other C8s. But on the road compared to normal cars it looks so special in comparison, especially compared to prior gen corvettes.

I do think certain angles do look better in person as well. The high wing definitely looks better in person but I hate how it looks in photos.

Not even close. The car looks so much better in person. Was thrilled to see the car on tour back in 2019.

They most definitely do look better in person. Though proper cameras as opposed to phone cameras also do it justice. Phone cameras can’t do depth perception and colors anywhere near as well. In person allows you to activate all the senses as well, inhaaaale that dyed cow hide.

I agree with others here. The C8 looks way better in person than any picture could portray.
My wife and I really liked the look of the C8 when we first saw the pictures but when we saw it in person it blew us away at how much better it looked than pics. My wife was so impressed with it she said we had to order one. I wasn’t ready to order just yet so we waited a year till we did.

In my opinion, front and profile photographs look as good, or better, than the real car does; for "better," see the configurator. Full-on rear photographs make the car look just as bad as it does in person. The configurator does not show any full-on rear photographs. The focal length of the camera lens, as in when a phone's typically wide-angle lens is used, makes a big difference in all photographs. In particular, short-focal-length lenses artificially accentuate the bulbousness of the front hood and fenders, especially when the photograph is taken from a normal standing height.

Could not agree more.

saw the photos when announced and thought “Oh cool.” And that’s it.

Saw one in person on the freeway for the first time and Porsche 911 was crossed off the list and replaced with a C8.

Two years later and a C8 is in the garage and not a 911. Something is definitely lost in photos.

Yes.

The back end looks like crap in photos.

In person, it just looks awful.

It’s definitely not just you. Got mine today and had never seen hypersonic gray in person and it is amazing.

As much as I love my C8 I still do think my 2019 G/S was a better looking and proportioned/designed car.

Agree. C7s photograph much better. There isn't an angle you can't get a good shot of that car. Its just very photogenic.

The C8 is REALLY hard to take a good pic of. As in almost impossible. But in person it is amazing. You can always tell when someone hasn't seen one in person.

I agree…. I ordered my 20 elb and it was amazing. In March 21 I went to spring mountain where there were all the colors. I was just blown away! They all looked good.

Folks on the fence…..about colors need to go to spring mountain or Carlisle for a treat.
