Will Gas Prices stop some buyers ?
In Oregon, our gas prices jumped from $3.75 to $4.95 in what seems like overnight.
I'm six months away from a C8, and it did occur to me maybe I won't be able to afford to drive this car if gas goes much higher.
Maybe I won't be able to afford to buy this, depending on what happens in the next six months.
But the next thought is that maybe some other buyers will not buy due to economic conditions, and I will take delivery before the expected one year timeline.
Anybody else considering not buying due to gas cost, or is this just wishful thinking on my part?

Short answer : No.
Long answer : Noooooooooooooooo
Nobody buying a C8 is considering gas prices as a factor.

There will be plenty of baller status guys to come along and explain how paying double for fuel ain't no big thing.
To me, even though I can afford it, it's a principle in the matter.
For some reason this gas price goat Fack seems far more incited than years past making it even more frustrating.
Would it make me not buy a car I liked? Maybe.
But that being said I already have driveway full of gas guzzlers.

OP you are absolutely right on point. It’s not only gas that will continue to skyrocket everything we buy is going to get extremely expense so the totality will impact many buyers. I saw multiple reports from the largest farms in America who are now paying 350% more for fertilizer in just two weeks. They said the cost of fertilizer will cause them to cut back by half the amount of crops they will plant this spring and they predict the average cost of food for a family of four will rise by $1000 per month.
Anyone who thinks inflation will not cripple the economy and car sales have their heads in the ground.

No. Don't care to pay for expensive gas to go into a car I wanted less.

Can't speak for others, but if I were in the market for a C8, the cost of gas may be somewhat of a factor, but would not be a major deciding factor. The C8 gets very good gas mileage for any car, much less a high performance one. Other factors take priority, including interest rates (not everyone is a baller and can pay cash for the car), cost of every day expenses (food, utilities, etc), and so forth.

I don't see many true Corvette buyers shying away because of gas prices. I can see some current owners using them less, or maybe being a little lighter on the pedal.

If the price of gas is going to stop buyers from purchasing a C8 then they probably should not have purchasing one to start with. Besides the C8 get pretty gas mileage, better than my other two vehicles.

Unlike the many ballers on this C8 forum, I plan on working past my scheduled retirement date so I can keep the car until it's paid off and to afford the higher octane gas to run it.

Lets say its an extra $100 a month, it shouldn't impact C8s as the average purchase price well into the mid 80s?

It’s not going to stop me from buying the car. The c8 gets decent mileage anyways. But in the past with my C7Z, when I was bored I just went out and messed around wasting a half tank of gas for entertainment. I would be less likely to do that now for sure

I don't think the price to fill up a C8 will be why there will be fewer buyers. Rather it'll be the effect of higher fuel costs on everything else that will make a C8 unaffordable for some. Wages never keep up with inflation. Sadly less disposable income = less buyers.

Some.... Maybe. 1 in 25 tops...
The price of fuel doesn't really matter to me. I drive 8 to 9k miles per year. This will be my daily driver by the way.... And another 3 to 4k miles on my motorcycle.
