Melting Slicks
I wouldn't kick either car out of my garage.

The manual is a little slower than the auto. The blackwing traps near 130 mph 1/4 mile. Kind of like the 1/4 mile turn around....just thought it was different.

Two very capable and evenly matched vehicles. If I hit the lottery, I'd take one of each.

The Caddy has over 170 more HP. That's huge and I would expect it to catch the lower HP C8. There is no way I would take the Caddy over the C8. The BW looks just like the Cadillac's I owned and while I really liked them, they weren't head turners. Out on the country roads I drive the C8 is far superior when it comes to acceleration and handling.
I guess if high performance 4 door family cars are your thing then the BW is a good choice otherwise give me a C8 every time.

I'd love to have a CT5 Blackwing 6-speed in the garage.

The CT5 Blackwing was on the short list along with M3, and RS6 before I was able to convince the wife that only having one family car was tenable (other car is a SUV for hauling kids and trips to the lumber yard).
There are a lot of badass cars these days. It's a fantastic time to be an auto enthusiast.

Very interesting results, I was mostly impressed with how well the BW did rotating around the cones, great power on the top side too.
Just an aside but when I use to set up Autocross courses I liked to include a "single cone way down there" feature and all you had to do was go around it anyway you liked. It was a lot of fun to get up to a very high speed and have the freedom to go around that cone anyway you liked. Of course there was aways a fast and slow way to do it but it was a lot of fun to watch everyone drive that feature, fun to do it too!

It doesn't matter what car I buy, there will always be something faster.

I don't think the price is ever going to drop on the Blackwing. They aren't making many and GM has been very clear that Caddy is heading to an electric future quickly.

Caddies have historically dropped big and plenty of folks will find bigger bragging rights in a faster EV. I bet that’s enough, but I’ll grant you it’s just a guess.

If this is truly Cadillac's last hurrah with a manual V8, they won't drop. Look at the price of G8 GXP's with a manual trans or a Chevy SS with a manual trans. Unless they are high mileage, most are pulling close to what they were new.
