Just sold my 21 HTC 1LT with Mag Ride for $20k over MSRP with 15,500 kms on it (9,600 miles). Dealership made another $10k on it as I "traded it in" for tax savings.

I don't believe the market is softening.

@CamsC8, Just for clarity:

I'm curious if your transactions took place in Toronto, and if so, how'd you rate the availability, or scarcity, of C8s there? Is it possible that the supply/demand situation there still favors the sellers over the buyers, compared to the cross section of buyers/sellers in the U.S.?

Also, are the Sales figures you mentioned in Canadian or U.S. dollars? Again, just seeking clarity as there is about a 20% difference between the two.

Thanks

FourWheel Trader on YouTube might have the most comprehensive, data driven sales numbers to break down car values.

He covers the C8 market here, covered about one month ago. Enjoy.

Watched another youtube video from Corvette World in Dallas. Guy claims prices are down a little but expects them to climb when Z06 production cuts into Stingray production. Interesting he said the economy had little bearing on price. He based that on prior history over many years. We'll see. I believe we have a lot of younger owners and buyers who may be more affected by the economy then us old folks.

Let's see that window sticker and proof of twenty thousand over.

I'm wondering just how long this will last after all the car will be 5 years old in the next "car" year. How long was the C7 run of course the C8 is more popular.
I'm waiting to see the first one caught after the prices fall. One day someone will pay 15-25 over and then the next they'll be sold for under sticker. Literally not that fast but it'll happen.

Crazy times. I posted on 2/26 that I went to my local carmax and they gave me a trade in of $89k on my 2022 HTC 2LT with an MSRP of about $87k. Was more curious than anything and certainly not tempted. I checked Carvana and they offered $98k and Vroom was $78k. Those prices are all over the place. Not interested in even the Carvana price even though I would make a little money but did not expect a $20k difference in car buying services.

Vroom may be reigning things in somewhat. They just reported earnings/guidance and some real issues. The stock is getting killed. That offer is simply not competitive. $9k UNDER MSRP on a 22?!! Seriously? They obviously want to avoid writing checks. At almost all costs.

In the last couple of months, I sold my 2021 Vette and 2019 Jeep Wrangler. Carmax gave crap offers on both. Received much better offers elsewhere.

Even if true, it's hard to cry (or worry, whatever) about used C8s maybe going down 4% when they were selling at easily 20-25% of MSRP.

Demand from people willing to pay $15k - $20k over MSRP is dwindling. Most of them already got their fix.

Some other source? His own speculation?). But, in general, we are seeing new car builds decreasing across several of the large U.S. producers due to supply chain issues. Time will tell.
I either read or watched a video by a GM exec. He said they had enough materials locked in to produce 77 cars a day, ZO6s, for the first year. I’m assuming that’s using GMs estimations on how much of each option will be purchased. I’m really interested in seeing the price on those carbon fiber wheels.

Ran into this link , it's pretty interesting, for 2021 it's going down about 1k a month.
