@marc4427 my car had remained in QC hold for eleven days so far...wonder if this chip has something to do with it

This temporary de-contenting, especially if with no MSRP adjustment (notes above seem to indicate that only dealer keeps savings on invoice), is disappointing (even if installed "sometime" in 4Q).

Heard of similar things happening on Silverados related to nixing heated seats on the fly.

U know somebody will jack up their rear fascia b/c of this snafu.

Buy used I suppose, at least you will know for certain what you are getting for options!

Mine was built on 1/28/22, and according to invoice mine was built WITH rear park assist. Will pick up 2/14 at museum and will verify invoice accuracy then. The GM bulletin said "some" builds on or after 1/24/22, would be without this feature, it didn't say ALL of them.

Just curious about your build specs, I.e.,coupe/HTC, trim level, etc.?

The buyer gets the $50 credit unless the dealer rips them off. The retrofit does not require doing anything to the rear fascia. It is a module that is accessed through the rear trunk.

Curious…. How do you know when a car is built…..and the invoice…..is that the same as the window sticker?

The Invoice is sent by GM to the selling dealer - it is not the window sticker (Monroney label)

3800 Produced
4000 Available to Ship
4150 Original Invoice

Any Chevy dealer can pull a VIS report that will show the build date, all options and a bunch of other stuff.

@Bird67 Hopefully your car is complete though although I know you will survive the trauma unlike some of those on FB who bitch about everything.
Do you realize how many people were backed over by 63 owners? More than who died from dog bites in 2021!

Understood.

I was thinking more along the lines of someone inadvertently backing into something without the sensor working in the interim. Before Q4.

Pretty sure your dealer should be able to get hold of your car's build sheet once accepted into production. At least this way you'll know in advance what's finally in the car rather than having to speculate. It won't change the outcome but at least you'll know. This was my build sheet for my 2022 HTC. Took delivery first week in November 2021 but I had this document well in advance of delivery.

I bought mine today. Built 1/27. No chip issues. Hendrick Duluth said on their most recent delivery last Saturday only 2 cars did not have the chip. They had about 20 cars on the ground. Jim Ellis had about 10 cars just delivered and from what I saw, and I did not look at every sticker, they had the chip.

I picked up my car yesterday which was built on 1/25 and my chip was installed . I did notice the C8’s in the lot that were built the week of 1/31 did not have the chip and window sticker reflected a 50.00 credit .
