With my C6 I had hockey pucks with big eye bolts in them, locked in place nicely. At least three times I had left them in accidentally, and they got ripped out when I got low hung on something: rough pavement, up and over a small peak, something. I am NOT excited about leaving them in on the C8.

On 2 separate occasions with our Vettes the dealership has had to borrow MY pucks as they couldn't find theirs..... I wrote my last name on the side edge of each aluminum puck in magic marker so there was no question as to who they belong to.
On the C8, I've installed a set of LEAVE IN pucks, so there is no question as to whether or not a dealer uses them or not....... Amazon.. $36..... Choose your color....

Cheap insurance in my opinion.....

Assuming that the rubber ones cited in one of the posts above will actually work to eliminate any jacking damage it seems to make sense to just leave them installed. If one (or more) would ever get snagged on something I'm guessing it should just pull the pad out without causing any damage to the mounting point holes. Since they are so cheap it would be a good ida to buy two sets and install one and keep the other in the frunk or trunk in case one had been knocked off unknowingly and the car needed to be jacked up at a non-dealer location. Keep in mind I just got my C8 so don't yet have any direct knowledge on this subject but just going by what other have said here.

Hockey pucks aren't anchored to anything. A side load applied to car sitting on hockey pucks could be disasterous for anyone under the car.
As for whether you need them at all, can you guarantee your car will always be service at a dealer? That there will never be a situation where you need service while on the road, with no dealer available? Shred a tire while travelling and need to go to a local tire store, for example?

Or just use plain ol' regular hockey pucks... They work perfect.

Hole sizes have changed, gotten a little smaller over the years. I think they shrunk with the c7 or could have been the c6.
I know this because if you look at the pictures I posted above, I used a bolt and piece of a puck to lock them in. For one model, I had to get the drummel out to shave down some of the rubber to get it to fit.
