Just A Black C8.....
#21
I have never owned a black vehicle. However I have had several, including my first C7, that have owned me. My vehicles are daily’s, including my current C8. Never doing black again.

For me it's the exact opposite. I don't like all of the carbon flash bits on any other colored C8...just too busy for my taste. Black, on the other hand, simply allows you to take in its full form without distraction.

I saw a black C8 coming at me while I was waiting a light yesterday.
It looked so mean from the front.
I almost got black with the Tension/Midnight blue interior. (that way you don't have to pay extra for body colored accents!)

I've been dealing with black for 40+ years.I had a '76 GMC 1/2 ton pickup that was black and drove it for years in the Adirondack's in upstate N.Y..In the winter it was covered in dried salt. I would go by this service station near the house that had a wash bay and dump quarters in that thing. When the garage owner saw me coming,he would open the door for me!....Fast forward to 1984 and here I come with a C4 Corvette yup,it was black...It stayed much cleaner than the truck,..because it was stored in a heated garage November thru April...I hauled it to Florida in '88 on a rented U-haul trailer pulled by an '89 GMC 1/2 ton pickup truck that was ,black!...

If you have Ceramic Coating done, black cars are not that hard to keep clean. I was of the same mindset as you until I got my MB AMG and had it ceramic coated.

Your driveway matches your house. Those black Vettes are a nice accent. Don't you just love Florida? This makes a very nice picture!
When I was in the market a couple of years ago for a C6 that I could mod, the guy who owns the shop that applies ceramic coat to my cars - after telling me to get a LS3 car - asked me to "please" not bring him a black car. He hates them because he spends so much time arguing with his customers complaining that they can't keep their cars clean! I'm with everyone else here who has owned one black car and will never own another one.

"...hard to keep clean..." my eye. Just wash the things like any other CAR. Has always worked for me.

Once I had mine paint corrected and ceramic coated zero problems keeping it clean. Of course, it is not my daily driver, it is kept in the garage, and I don't drive it on rainy days. All I do is blow off the street dust with my compressor and I am good to go! And when I do wash it low power pressure washer, foam cannon, drying agent and Adams Air Cannon - a towel really never has to touch it.

I was set to order Silver Flare as it hides dirt well, my Acura is silver, my C5 was Sebring Silver…significant percentage of cars are silver, gray because of the dirt hiding ability… But this is not DD so I’m going Black. On Ciocca list since end of August…hoping to get a Carbon Black 70th Anniversary…
