Chip Shortage to Impact Corvettes
Corvettes being built after Jan 24th will be affected by this.
Today, we are announcing details impacting the availability of park assist and reverse automatic braking on certain 2022 models. While we will temporarily build vehicles without these features, we are able to confirm that all such vehicles will be eligible for a retrofit process that will activate this functionality. This retrofit process will begin when parts become available and at no additional cost to the customer. Dealers will be reimbursed via the GM Global Warranty System. We anticipate that these parts will be available for retrofit in Q4 2022. Beginning immediately, each impacted vehicle will receive an invoice and Monroney label credit of $50 per vehicle.
Park Assist and Reverse Automatic Braking:
Front and Rear Park Assist (UD5) or Rear Park Assist (UD7) may no longer be standard or optional content on certain 2022 model year vehicles built beginning December 20th. The below tables provide each model impacted by this action, the estimated date of the change, and the RPO codes and the associated MSRP credit amount. There are some trims and configurations that will not be impacted by these changes, please use the vehicle order guides as your source for ordering and the vehicle's Monroney label for each individual vehicle's content. The RPO codes will be reflected on the Dealer Invoice and the Monroney label of each impacted vehicle will include this credit and indicate that the vehicle is 'Not equipped with (either of the following) front and rear park assist (UD5), rear park assist (UD7).'

Just to clarify, the rear park assist isn't the camera, but rather the projection and warnings for how close you are to something, right?
Guess I should be keeping an eye on all these things getting the snip, as to not overpay when my time comes. At this point I'm -$100 between the heated seats and rear park assist. Kind of surprising they're cutting it on the 3LT.

Will this affect the 2023 models?
**EDIT** I re read the quote in first post and see this chip shortage applies to Corvettes built after January '22, so by default, the '23 models would be affected.
