Is this insurance quote high?
My TPW is this week but we all know it has been delayed. I used the VIN coder and figured out my VIN. I'm in upstate NY, only driver, with Geico and my insurance quote went from one car, six months for $326, to my current car and the 2022 C8 HTC for $883 for six months. I put I would drive it 2500 miles a year. I didn't see any "I'll leave it in my garage from November through March" options. 300k/500k coverage with $500 collision deductible.
Does that seem like an expensive increase or normal?
Will they lower the rate if I tell them I will garage it from November to March? I don't want to take the plates off.

Geico quoted me 150 a month which is 900 over 6 months but they did not have new car replacement or agreed upon value. That was a BIGGIE to me because god forbid something happens and my car is totalled I am not waiting another 12 to 15 months. Call Haggerty, they gave me a quote of 200 bucks or so with solid coverage and 90k agreed on value.

Seems high to me, but I have no idea what your driving record is, your locale, your age, etc. Shop around and see what other insurance companies provide as a quote.

It's really difficult to compare insurance quotes from around the country. You're better off asking people in your zip code who have similar driving records
How many miles you drive a year also has an influence.
I shopped around a lot. Mine went from $1200 / 6 months to $800 / 6 months "apples to apples". Vegas is known to have high insurance rates so I expect to pay more insuring there. I have a perfect driving record and no accidents. I'm also a loooooooooooooooooong way from 20 years old.
So YMMV. I would suggest shopping around. Its free. It just takes a bit of time on your side.

It's still 12-15 month wait for a new one, or do you mean they'd give you more money so you could buy one above MSRP?

Live in Nebraska. Age 68. $100 deduct, $100 comprehensive, don't remember liability, cost me about $1,000 annually.
My 2012 G.S. with same coverage was about $700.

If you can get Erie Insurance where you live (I think you can) check them out. I'm paying less per year with Erie than GEICO wanted for 6 months, AND getting better coverage. And Erie is highly rate both for financial stability and customer service.
Other than that, most of the larger insurance companies have websites to give you either online quotes, or let you enter your info and then get back to you with a quote. Use them to see what your options are.

Just did an online quote from Erie. It's $12/month cheaper.
Did one with Hagerty and they are $80 a month MORE.

I live in NY. I have Allstate for all of my families regular cars but I went through the Corvette Museum for the C8. Agreed upon value of $96K and its half of what Allstate wanted. I’m paying a little under $1100. But I also live on LI which has higher premiums.

I was going to go with them but I like to drive my cars and that mileage cap was just not going to cut it for me. The c8 will not be my daily but I won't let it be constrained. Everyone is different though! If I had a 488 in my garage too maybe I would have gone with NCM lol

Some Insurance companies will give a big reduction if you store it for part of the year. USAA does this but you have to actually STORE it. If you say it is stored and have an accident, you are out of luck.
