Default Rear lid doesn't pop up enough to lift

Just curious if anyone else has experienced this. When I pop the rear engine/trunk cover it doesn't pop up enough to get my fingers under to lift it up. I'm wondering if there is some adjustment I might make instead of taking the car in for such a minor issue? The latch releases fine it just doesn't pop up more than 1/8 inch. How far up does the average C8 rear lid pop up? It seems like the struts aren't strong enough. Thanks for any responses.

I didn't even know they were there! There are six of those adjustable little guys, three on each side. That was easy, it works great now. Thanks much.

Good info. Sometimes it is the simple things that can fix a problem.

Someone makes a spring that slips under the hatch latch plate I have seen it somewhere.

If it's cold, the hatch won't lift as far as when it's hot outside.

Default C5 trunk not lifting enough

I have read a few threads regarding a spring bar next to the latch can be bent up to pop the trunk up further.
I just bought a C5 convertible and I would have to have a cocaine finger nail to lift the trunk lid up when I pop the trunk.
I have a latch in the middle of the trunk and would like to bend this "spring bar" up, but want to confirm I am bending the right "bar" .
I have attached a pic of my latch

Yes, I have seen that a lot but don't really want a spring sticking out of my trunk lid. Seems a cheap and good fix but just looking for a stock option.
Tried the WD40 and will see later if that helped.

Just a shot of hot glue and that spring and you're good to go! .......can you imagine? That's like spray painting clear shipping tape red and using it to repair a broken tail light...

This is not a new problem for corvettes, both my C5 vert and C6 coupe have the same problem. Not an issue on my C8, so far, but under warranty so I'd have the dealer address it.

Yes, that seems to fix the issue but the cost is a tad steep for the level of technology

There was a post back in 2009 that addressed this

simple fix if your vert trunk does not pop up enough - CorvetteForum - Chevrolet Corvette Forum Discussion

I have reached out to Johnbadami who did the original post. He had indicated there is a spring bar that gets pushed down in the latch mechanism over time and can be pulled back up to fix how high the lid pops up. I am just trying to confirm the bar I posted in the pic is what he was talking about.
I will respond to the forum if he gets back to me.

FYI,
WD40 on latch did not work for me. Mine is a convertible C5 so I do have two bumpers at the back edge of trunk lid that can be rotated up or down but if I do that it seems to push the edges of the trunk out of alignment with the rest of the body when the lid is closed (trunk lid sits higher on the quarters) and rotating them to extend further did not seem to pop the trunk lid up much further anyway so I just screwed them down again.
The support rods on either side work fine but they do nothing to pop the trunk up. They are only there to hold the trunk lid up when fully opened and they do that fine. It is a minor thing, but it is surprizing to hear that this is an issue with the C6 and C7 also. Guess it was considered too minor to address.
