FWIW, many of us felt the water spots in the Trunk, which were bad when I got my C8 were from the 12,000 gallons reportedly used on the water check when the car is built. That number comes from a video that shows the car being driven off the assembly line and water leak is part of that test.
It took two Meguire's products, 1) Water Spot Remover and 2) Ultimate Black to remove. Have nothing like that after after driving in the rain and washing a number of times in18 months. Perhaps that is where the water came from and the dealer didn't clean IF they even opened the Frunk in the PDI? Only thing that is not covered with 3 pieces of plastic Trim is the Brake fluid reservoir and Windshield wiper fluid.

I had heard at the factory they do some type of water testing that fills the shock towers. Mine were full of water when I looked and I dried them. I've washed the car many times and they're still bone dry.

Anyone tried “Flexpaste”?

My October MY 2022 build had water in the front shock towers. I too installed the covers from Angry Off Road.

Looking at strut covers they all look pretty much the same and seem to vary $5 to $10 in price. Is there any recommendation on a particular supplier and product? Or is there a particular supplier one should avoid? Thanks, Sam

My fix
My fix cost me about 8 bucks
A roll of 3M waterproof duct tape
Takes about 10 minutes per strut
Comes in colors too. The red is a close match...not that it matters...
Mine is a 22 ... it came off the line Nov 30 2021..
It had water in both towers...

I'm guessing it would cost GM less than $1 to fix this on each newly produced C8...yet here we are, 2 years in. Is the feedback just not getting to the right place?

I think they figure if the damage happens after warranty expires they won’t have to spend any money on it.

I've seen a lot of comments of water in the strut mounts the first time people check after they have received their cars, mine had water in them. But I don't remember seeing any posts from people with cars that have the passenger side drain holes eliminated posting that they had water return after they had removed the water.

The little rubber boots that cover the MSRC wires are a joke. Take a look at them. Notice the hole at the top where the wire goes in. The wire is what, 1/8" maybe? The I.D of the hole is close to 1/4". There is an air cap all around it. I filled mine with some grease because the nuts were starting to rust.
Why? Because I may need to get into the strut again in the future when adjusting the ride height.
Also, if you are even slightly concerned or on the fence about the front strut towers getting wet, but don't want to spend the money on a plastic cover. I would recommend you just remove the "three amigos" (plastic covers) to gain access to the strut towers, and then just cover them in ELCHEAPO aluminum tape. Same stuff you use on the side of an air handler. Just cover it with that, once you have made sure to remove any water in there of course! Then re-install the three amigos and nobody will ever know. Later on you won't have an issue removing the struts since the nuts won't be rusted up.

Never check my shock towers and don't care what they look like... I have changed many shocks ( other cars and trucks) that the top nut has rusted and looked nasty. Some WD40 or the like and .. voila ... the nut comes right off. I expect the same for the C8.
I do fill my Blinker fluid every so often though...

Well I ended up putting the covers over mine to be on the safe side.
