Looks like I know what the dog and I are doing Saturday instead of going to the beach in Ogunquit.

Wasn't a bird, I've seen that rotten bastid, it's a demonic spawn of hell. Be sure to shoot on sight.

Sure, it was the bird's fault...Speedy, and fair? You're a sick man, but that's just me.

THIS is why you should never park your car indoors!
Ifixed your thread’s title for you. You should be parking outside where your car will be safe from nature.

Good that you were prepared for such an occasion (not necessarily for a bird in the garage - kind of unusual there) and that no paint damage happened.

I garaged my 2016 C7 and just washed it when needed.
I never waxed it, never put any ridiculously expensive coating on it, absolutely none, zilch, nada.
When I sold it last May it looked brand new as the first day I got it. My C7 was 5 1/2 years old, I got it in December 2015.
If you take care of your car you did not need to put any of the hyped products on your new car.
You love your new car and want it to last and look good. So just take good care of it and treat it right and keep it clean. You do not need to spoil it.
I am proof that none of these expensive hypes are needed or necessary.
Its your money, waste it anyway you want.

I've had three vehicles of mine professionally ceramic coated. And indeed the coatings have worked as advertised to protect and make cleaning the vehicles a breeze.
However, to make the coatings last their advertised length, you have to periodically apply a maintenance or sacrificial coating. You just can't apply the ceramic coating and expect it to last 2 to 5 years or whatever the manufacturer claims without some maintenance.
On my C8, I decided to skip the professional coating this time and apply a high quality sealant myself. I thought no big deal to re-apply every 6 months. I would be applying a sacrificial coating of some sort after every 4-5 washes if my car was professionally coated. If I wasn't happy with the results, I could always take it to be professionally coated later on.
So far, I'm very please with the results. Takes me about two hours to apply and wipe off the sealant (I spend a lot of that time admiring my car which slows me down). I applied sealant in April and just did my six month re-application yesterday. Here you can judge the results for yourself.
I'm not trying to discourage anyone from having their car professionally coated. I just want to present another option that has so far worked well for me.
