If your dealer is willing to activate the car's OnStar system and link it to your email account, you'll get an email letting you access the car's status via the MyChevrolet app. Most dealers will likely not do this until they have completed the sales transaction. The locate feature works 48 hours after each vehicle start, then you won't be able to locate the latest position. That's exactly what happened to me 48 hours after my car was loaded at BGA. Vinview is an app dealers use to track the cars during shipping as seen in the video. The dealer plugs in the vin# and their phone number and they receive text updates throughout the shipping process. MM does use the app. I'm waiting for my salesman to start texting me when he gets updates since my car was shipped Friday morning.

I would suggest speaking with your MM salesperson to see if they are willing to setup Vinview for your car.
