My Order Is In Small Dealer
Got the call last night to finalize our C8 order. We put deposit down end of May at NP Chevy Castroville west of San Antonio and at the time they had allocation for 2021 so they put in, it did not make it when GM stopped except 3000 and above. With the new way GM doing orders they got 4 allocations and we were #1 on list for 2022. In May we put in order for Coupe 2LT and this changed in the months as YouTube had wife and I wanting the HTC. So we are ordering Torch Red HTC 3LT, Natural Dip, Z51, mag ride, lift and did base wheels as I also ordered HRE FF11 wheels in Black. So I will have track wheels and get all season tires for the street as I do plan on track days. Now it is up to GM to keep producing 2022s for those like us wanting one.

GREAT that it worked out so well for you! Hope you get it soon. I'm way back in line from you, at a different dealer, so while I wait I enjoy posts from those who have a good report to share. Post some pics when you get it.

8/9 - I placed my order for a 2022 HTC / Z51 / 3LT - Rapid Blue with a deposit of $2k for MSRP
8/20 - The dealer called and said my allocation is in and order was sent to GM
9/15 - The dealer called and told me that my order has already jumped to 3100 ! (Thank God I didn't want any changes). I should see a delivery sometime in Oct.
What happened ?
Last year most people were getting their ordered 2021 Vette's in about 12 months. If this holds true . . . I will get mine in about 2 months ?

You said you put a deposit dowm end of May. Was it may 2020? Because in may of this year they told me they were marking up. Last October they werent but I wasnt quite ready to pull the trigger back then.

Yes, maybe because we have purchased 4 vehicles from the NP family in last 6 years, was told mine was at MSRP, I was unaware of any markup that may have happened. I found out why, others sold a few of them and pissed off the dealers leadership.

Just called Northpark Chev. Talked to Jeremy in Sales. All C8s ordered now, are $10,000.00 over MSRP, plus $150.00 Doc Fee.

A small dealer around Cleveland area has my order for 6+ months now - I was number 2 in July and it seems like they are eager for more money - and I have no longer a number on the queue. It seems like they are selling their allocations to the highest bidder. Some dealers are really showing their colors - and integrity is not a word on their vocabulary. Not sure if I start over, or wait to see if the fever will go away and I still can get a car in 2022. It is very frustrating. It is like going to the supermarket and waiting to pay for our cart, and someone just cut the line because they have more money than you. Very sad day, GM. Hope you are reading those and take action to control the disappointment of some of your clients with certain dealers...

Seemed that individuals were castigated when flipping-for-profit, but dealers weren't. I wonder if & when all Chev. dealers will flip from MSRP?
Back in 1984 when C4s were released to the marketplace, a longtime friend East of Austin, TX and I-35 ordered a new C4 with a very smalltown Chev. dealer. He was skipped over at least once on an incoming C4 because of a higher profit sale the dealer made. I don't know if he had an actual signed order receipt from the Chev. dealer. He did finally get a new 1985 C4 from that dealer.

I figured that might be the case (the flippers ruining it for genuine buyers at that dealership). Glad you had a relationship with them and got yours at MSRP, assuming you're keeping it anyway. Cant stand to see so many small dealers who tried to be nice before deciding "if ya cant beat em join em" after getting burned by greedy flippers. Cant blame them really, but I do blame the flippers and the people willing to pay the inflated prices, as theyre the ones really forcing these dealers' hand and ruining it for those of us that truly want the car to keep.

GM has taken action by changing its allocation policy. FLDs all got an early 2022 allocation. If they sold it quickly they get more. If they held it they don’t. If you want more Corvettes to sell, sell them quickly. Selling above MSRP takes time. Best way to sell quickly is at MSRP. That is GM’s action.
if you don’t have a deposit at a large dealer, place one NOW. Either way you’re looking at a 2023 unless you’re willing to reward FLD for rapacious behavior by overpaying. Delaying will only make it worse, and if you get lucky from FLD you get your deposit back.

There's no way to take the profiteer element out of it. I guess the ADM Chevrolet dealers aren't worried about losing future allocations then? Sitting on stock because it's an excessive ADM amount is more precious than future new Corvettes. As long as there's more demand than supply, flippers of all types will flourish.
