I have had only oil changes and an alignment done at Northside Chevy. Remember that unless your car needs actual work your car is not being worked on by a Corvette technician. So the oil change and other basic stuff is done by the grunts and not the specialist.
I have had no complaints and there waiting area is really nice.

My C8 should arrive in a few weeks so good info. A Forum member reached out to warn me about his experience Gunn doing the courtesy delivery but that ship has sailed since I can’t change it now. Everyone has their own experience anyway so as long as Gunn Chevrolet treats me well when they handle delivery might as well keep using them

Any of you san antonio cats drive a coupe(targa) and willing to let me ride along with you to see if wind buffeting is really bad at 80+ mph?

I tried a C7 with the targa off and buffeting was horrible above 80mph.

Trying to decide if the HTC is worth the $.

Drive faster! The 911 Targa solves this issue over a 100 😀

do you mind sharing the CD experience the forum member had at Gunn? I’m having a CD done there and haven’t heard anything about them.

Short story was Gunn wanted more than what was expected to install spoiler, wheels, etc. Also wanted to ceramic wax car. There’s a post in the MM thread from ‘Primo’. Maybe he’ll see this and elaborate if needed. I’ll contact Gunn before delivery and let them know all I need is car looked over for damages and they can flip me the keys. Unless they race the car when they fill it up with gas all the other stuff is not worth the stress thinking about it.

All I heard about Gunn was from a member ‘Primo’ that may see this and elaborate. He said Gunn quoted more than expected to install accessories and wanted to apply ceramic wax. All I need is car looked over for shipping damages and flip me the keys so we all have different expectations from courtesy delivery

You can't compare the C7 targa to the HTC. Its night and day. If you love having the top down you will never regret it. There is very little wind noise with the HTC, if you roll up the windows while on the freeway you can have a conversation. A big bonus is you can actually hear the exhaust with the too down, it sounds very nice.

Just my two cents but I wouldn't put much stock in how a dealership does it's CD. I had mine done at Henna and they did a horrible job but I have had friends that swear by them. Also remember that the department that does the CD might not be the same as buying from them. My example at Henna is my friend got the white glove treatment and I got here are your keys see yah. O your car is dirty I don't do that, go see fleet services. Fleet services manager "wow that looks dirty" we will get that cleaned up. The short version is I was tired and decided that waiting around for a third attempt was not worth it, so I drove it hope and cleaned it myself.

I would like to know about CD in San Antonio as well. I will start a new thread so we don't hijack this one.

Kinda all related. It’s all about the overall experience with the dealer. As many have stated in other forum posts the first experience with a dealer sets the tone for potential sales and service later

Default Gunn

Tried posting this earlier so if a duplicate shows up…well it’s a dup! All I heard was Gunn wanted to charge more than expected to install accessories and wanted to apply ceramic wax as part of the $725 CD fee. A guy named Primo posted the whole story in the MM thread but may chime in here. To me all I need is the car looked over for shipping damage and flip me the keys. We all have different expectations

Yeah I know the HTC is quieter. But I'm curious if the C8 targa top has as much wind noise as the C7's. If it is less noisy than the C7 it might be tolerable. So I'm hoping a C8 targa top owner in SA will let me ride along with them for a short 80mph jaunt on the highway.

Riding on the IRT is quieter than the C7 with the top off.

Sorry I got off topic there.

I have a coupe and with the top off there is quite a bit of turbulence unless you lean in just a bit then you hit a sweet spot. PM me and we can link up so you can check it out.
