How long did your first oil change
My 2021 has 6500 miles and 9 months and it's down to 10% oil life. So i scheduled an appointment with my local Chevy dealership for the oil change and DTC filter change. Also there were 2 computer updates to be done.
How many days does it take to do this? It now been 2 days???

I would agree. Anecdotal evidence here indicates that a lot of dealers are backed up in their service departments. The fact that you actually made an appointment would make it extremely frustrating that they didn’t get it taken care of on the same day, worst case, next day.

The first C8 service requires the following; 8 QTs Mobil 1 0W40 ESP oil, PF64 oil filter, DCT canister filter (Part #24045729), and about a half bottle of FFL-4 DCT fluid. If the dealer is out of any of these items, your C8 would sit there until all required parts are in inventory. Perhaps they were out of stock on one or more items?

If your dealer is familiar with C8, they might be OK, but you may double check with them that they are ready for the transmission filter change. When I had my first service at my dealer, they didn't have a filter. They changed engine oil only, then I needed to go home once and went to the dealer again in a couple of days. It was waste of time and gas. They have sold several C8s, but regardless of it, I even didn't think that they make that type of silly mistake.

When I had my 1 year service done at my dealership a couple weeks ago my PDR was set for auto record when I dropped it off. When I picked it up that same day I figured I's check the PDR when I got home. Note: when I picked it up it was still set for auto record. The only files in there was when the service writer drove it back to service and when she picked it up and drove it back to me. There was no files available when the tech serviced it. There's only 2 explanations. The tech turned it off when he/she got in and turned it on when they were done or he/she deleted the file(s) when they finished the work. Possibly these techs are getting a bit more internet savvy?? I saw no other reason to be concerned and mileage barely went up. I didn't say anything to them. I really don't want to start a confrontational relationship with my dealer if I don't need to.

Did you not ask how long it would take when you dropped the vehicle off for service? Have you called the service advisor for an update at any time during these two days? Seem like pretty common sense things to do And as others have already stated, couple hours max. Probably need to find a more competent dealer or do the maintenance yourself.
