^^^ Most likely got stopped on the toll road. They are the worst I've noticed.

I don't have the paperwork so I dont know which of those numbers I used.
I bought it from one of the on line Delco parts dealers. They are usually an actual car dealership that has an on line parts business(mine was). I dont recall which one I used, but I do recall finding several that had it, and I just picked the lowest price one.

In 1985 I bought a C4 and when I asked the dealer to install both plates he said I didn't need to and put one in the trunk. 15 minutes later I got a ticket for no front plate and returned to the dealer who paid the ticket.
To the OP, you may have left out 1 more option: I just mounted my front plate using 2 velcro strips right over that front thing (aero plate?) Took 2 minutes, no dismantling, no measuring, no drilling, no screws, Put both velcro components on the license plate, slightly bent the plate, lined it up and pressed it on front of car!!

Anyone tried the stick on. See link. Little pricey but would allow you to mount it behind the cover and if you got tired of it thin enough you could put the cover back on.

Just a little side note: Someone I know really well has received many minor infractions over the years. From tinted windows to lights out, to failure to have a front license plate. These like many others are not considered moving violations. With that said they are minor infractions and require a law enforcement official to "sign off" the infraction after you have completed a correction. The sign-off requires an officer's visual inspection, credentials, and signature on the back of the ticket. Then the person who received the violation is required to send in the original ticket to a Court system, therefore, releasing the violation as "satisfied".
A clerk in the court can receive many of these in a single day, entering the ticket number and taking a visual look at the sign-off on the back of the ticket. Assuming that process has taken place, it would be very unusual that this clerk would take the time to look up or even prove the credentials that have been entered on the back of the ticket. Especially when the violator assumed that the sign-off officer in fact appeared to be legitimate. Why would anyone doubt the signature? No need to doubt.
He's always signed his tickets off, and some states are on to this so have also included $ amount fines included with the fix-it violation. He has never had an issue.
