Scrolled down to see if Jerry somehow managed to wedge the street rod into the conversation. Was not disappointed.

I got a chance to drive a Cayman GTS 4.0 and loved it. I speced a Boxster GTS 4.0 and the way I would want it came in under 100k.
I think these 718’s are the last hurrah for the ICE Porsche. I’m tempted to get one assuming I could find an allocation.

Agree. From the rear window back it looks like they realized it was looking to much like the 911 and made it as ugly as possible so the two would NOT be confused. Mission accomplished. Still a nice car.

I agree with you. In addition to the manual transmission must have, the fact that we're getting close to the end of ICE Porsches factored into my decision to get the latest 718 gen and hold on to it. We also bought an MX-5 ND2 to hold on to.

Lets see how many more posts get in that say you need a manual transmission etc!

This place would be a lot nicer if it were populated by more folks who respect the choices of others, choices that are different from their own. Of course, that's an indication of why the human race is as screwed up as it is.

This place would be a lot nicer if it were populated by more folks who talked about C8 Corvettes in the C8 Corvette section since this isn't the "All brands Sports Cars" forum. I know I don't come here to learn anything about other brands (don't care about them any more than fishing). I have a C8 and want to learn about and talk about that. There are lots of other forums that exist for the other brands.

The title of this thread was transparent. When a thread doesn't interest me, I just move on to one that does.

And speaking about what would be nice, this place would be even nicer yet if it were populated by more folks who commented in a more civilized and respectful manner towards our fellow forum members.

They are very evenly matched, although that will offend some here as they may feel the 718 is socially beneath their c8. The c8’s extra 500 pounds is worth considering in both a pure performance and driving experience comparison. Not to mention Porsche still offering a very nice manual transmission option for the purists. In the 2021 Lightning Lap, the C8 ran a 2:49.0 while the Cayman GTS ran a 2:50.3 - IMO a very close performance.

I’m sure it’s fun to drive. I’ll never drive one, don't want one. Thanks for sharing lol

How could a thread that started so good end up so stupid.
