What would you do?
After waiting over 6 months, my HTC arrived at the dealership today.
I had ordered the Custom Interior Combination Adrenaline Red with Jet Black seats, Napa leather seating surfaces with perforated inserts.
The dealer told me TODAY that when they put in my order in early February, my interior choice was ’on constraint’, which meant it wasn’t available at that time (?), so they decided to order what they felt was the next best thing, which is the Adrenaline Red interior. I’m not a fan of all that red. I paid sticker price.
Now I must decide to:
1) Pass on the car & let the dealer sell it no doubt at a premium),
2) Take delivery & see if I like it,
3) Take delivery s& flip it at a modest profit.

Wait...your dealer changed what you ordered and didn't even ask you?!

Beautiful car, and although I'm never personally been a fan of red interior, that combo does look really nice. I think it strikes a nice balance between the red & black. Keep it, drive it, enjoy it!

I mean I would probably keep it considering the state of the industry. You can get black seats with red stitching and swap them out. Honestly as it's a good combo that will have good appeal for resale in the future for what you have now.

Love my Adrenaline Red 3LT interior. Usually folks who want less red want only red in the seats. But with your exterior color, I think the full Adrenaline Red looks better, especially when you drop the top.

First of all, I call BS on the two tone seats being on constraint...wonder if there's a way to fact check this.
But, second, I would take it anyway. I see you ordered almost every option available - 94.5K sticker - which IS disappointing you didn't get delivered exactly what you ordered.
Maybe you can get the dealership to throw in an extended warranty (or something else) - which you may find useful for the HTC and other things, if you plan to keep the car past the 3/36 warranty timeframe. Or maybe you can take delivery and insist the dealer put you at the front of the line for another car order exactly as you want, then sell this one, for hopefully, enough to cover the 2022 price increases!
You will love driving the car so hopefully you can "learn to love" the all red seats.

I would take it. It looks nice enough and you could enjoy it now and decide on swapping/trading later. At this point the delay would be tougher to swallow than dealing with the red interior which isn't too bad of a problem to have...

I get your frustration but given the current market and wait time…AND that they are selling it at MSRP, I’d keep it. See if you can live with the all red, if not sell it.
BTW - sweet combo.

I would definitely take delivery. If you decide after a month that you still don't like the red interior, put it up for sale.

I bet they entered the wrong seat color and are covering it up by telling you your color choice was on constraint. Perhaps tell them to order new seat leather and have them swap it out on their dime. If they object, you can offer to pay for the materials (new leather seat covers) and have them cover the labor. It would still be a lot less expensive than buying a C8 with an Additional Dealer Markup.

Personally I think shadow gray metallic with a red interior is a stunning combination. I would still demand some type of compensation like a free extended warranty or multiple free (lifetime) oil changes

But I would have a heart to heart talk with the dealership owner about them changing the build without asking you first, if that is the way it went down.

Get them to show you the original order that went to GM. They need to prove it was on constraint and not a case where they made a mistake. If they won't cooperate there are ways to find out if that color combo was ever on constraint at that time. Try midenginecorvetteforum.com, they have a sticky with list of Official constraints.
Even if there was a constraint they were dead wrong to make that decision for you

Since it appears to be their ordering mistake, I'd ask them to fix it or give you something else of value to make up the difference.

The dealer will probably be more than happy if you decline purchase of the C8, as they will most likely just mark it up and sell it to someone else at a higher profit margin than selling to you.
Car looks looks great, I'd purchase it and if you don't warm up to the interior color in a month or so you can sell it at a profit.
