Default C8 Ordering in Indiana

I see big name dealers thrown around a lot on this forum but I put my deposit down with a local dealer in Avon, Indiana. I was wondering if there are other people here who ordered their C8 Corvettes locally in the Indianapolis area and how did that go till delivery?

I bought my current Corvette (2019 Grand Sport) from Andy Mohr Chevrolet in Plainfield, Indiana. I went back to Andy Mohr when I decided to buy a C8 and placed a $2500 deposit on Aug 13, 2020. Afterward I learned they get only 1 (0ne) allocation a month.
I was told by the salesman they were one of the largest volume Corvette dealer in Indiana. When the list of the Top 100 Corvette selling dealers was printed on the Corvette Forum I looked for Andy Mohr's name. It was not listed and neither was any Dealer from Indiana. The last dealer on the list sold 30 Corvettes. This means that all Indiana Corvette dealers sell less than 30 per year.
This week Andy Mohr Chevrolet told me they now get 2 (two) allocations a month. Then they said they can't use them yet. I will be able to order my C8 in July and get it in October.
I finally decided to contact Mike Furman at Criswell Chevrolet. Mike said they get 30 allocations per month. If I got on their list I could have my C8 in October. I sent a $1000 deposit to get on his list. I should have done his back on August 13, 2020.
Here is an update on my Indiana Dealer order. Andy Mohr got me an allocation before Mike Furman. I have used the allocation and my C8 will be built next week. I am at 3400. I told Mike Furman this information and hw instantly refunded my deposit.
The Indiana dealer committed to sell to me at MSRP but would never put it in writing. If they add to the price I will be back here to tell the world. I was told they added a $5,000 fee after I made my deposit but it did NOT apply to my purchase.

Personally, I wouldn't waste my time with small dealers. No telling when you may get yours and then will they sell it to you at MSRP. MacMulkin or Furman is the way to go.

I purchased mt '17 GS from Hare Chevy right outside of Indy and was very impressed with their service and professionalism.

Honestly every experience I've had with Andy Mohr has been subpar. I put my order with Champion Chevy of Avon. The Corvette Salesman told me they got 30 allocations for 2020 MY and 14 for 2021. I'm 25th in line on their list for 2022 MY. I didn't join this forum until after putting in my deposit so now I'm second guessing myself.

I gave Hare in Noblesville a call when I was ready to order. They told me in the middle of January that there would be no way I would be getting a 2021, but they would be happy to add me to the list. I passed and chose to go with MacMulkin (although I still missed out on a 2021 but hopefully will get a July allocation). Hare does sell at MSRP (at least that's what they told me) and are the only top 100 dealer in the state (49 2020 allocations). They will be my servicing dealer once I do get a car and will also use them for courtesy delivery if they will agree to it.

Many times those small Dealers get overlooked and have that one elusive allocation in the first few rounds Just because they are a small Dealership does not put them to the end of the line. Good luck!

Good luck, I have a deposit with an Indianapolis dealer. Was told in january they had a match allocation availible.

That wasnt around I guess, but May for sure. Well may turned into july which is now maybe december.

Basically I called the bluff to see if they were honest. And well, I'll keep waiting i guess.

I totally agree. I ordered from a smallish dealer in IL (~35-40 allocations per year). Put my $1,000 down last August and my SRE order was at status 1100. i went status 3000 on 3/25, and my TPW is 7/5. If that TPW holds, I will be at 11 months from start to build finish. I am very happy with the result, given the timeframes from folks purchasing from the Big 5 dealers.

MSRP plus their $250 doc fee, in writing. The key for me was getting a recommendation of this dealer from senior forum members.

I have no doubt that the Z06 reservation process will negatively affect Ciocca future sales. You cannot have 5000 reservations taken with a limited amount of future orders without disappointing a lot of future customers. Especially when many of those disappointed customers have been former loyal ones who supported Kerbeck/Ciocca over the. Years. They are a quantity dealer not a quality dealer, MM is good at both.

Well, after talking with the owner of my local dealership and high school buddy in Northern Indiana, I sent my deposit to Kerbeck in April on the reputations from a fellow c8 owner. I just received my order number and my c8 will be built in January. I would say I wish they communicated better, but I couldn’t be happier with how quick they got me the car at MSRP! I would go with the big boys and be patient. The other option is to call every GM dealer in the USA and see who has an allocations they haven’t filled yet. Good luck on your process and enjoy the ride once you get it.

I bought my C6 and C7 at Hubler Chevrolet in Indianapolis and was very happy with both the sales and service departments. When I was ready for the C8 (I waited too long) I checked with Hubler, Hare, and Mohr. They had no idea of the wait and wouldn’t guarantee price, so I ordered from Mike Furman at msrp. Took 13 months, but the drive home was great!
