No, I don’t plan to because bent fins are the price of admission to mid-engine ownership.

Yeah, good point, I was driving mine today and it was 94 degrees outside and my coolant temp was 178, oil was 174, and trans fluid was 173. Warning zone on trans fluid is 270. With a 100 degree buffer I'm sleeping just fine.

Say, for example, someone puts a black towel on the dash and it messes up their dash, overheats electronics, or flies off with a gust of wind and causes them to have an accident, GM won't be covering that. So would you put a black towel on your dash then?

Got mine from 'Custom CarGrilles' the other day. Great customer service, shipping, price & quality. I had some rubber trim molding on hand and did the perimeter. Very happy with the quality of the grilles and how the border turned out. Now I just need a car.

I wouldn't leave them in if you ever have any type of transmission issue that needs service.

Why? If it never logs a DCT fluid overheat (and it won't, because my screens don't increase temps by one degree) it wouldn't be denied warranty. What's so funny about all the chicken littles is you act like with screens, the temp just suddenly spikes to 300 degrees before you even saw anything go wrong. One second all is normal and the next the motor and transmission are melting. Not exactly how it works in the least. These are open screens, not pillows wrapped in comforters. How much damage is being done when it's 94 degrees outside and the DCT fluid is spot on normal temperature?

I installed mine myself and had fun doing it. Back in the day, I had to wrench my cars because I couldn't afford to pay people, but I had not done any work on my cars is a few years. Getting back into unscrewing parts with my tools and pulling things apart was interesting and fun. Then looking around inside the car to see how everything was connected was even more interesting. Installing the grills was easy but it did take some effort to get everything aligned and tied down. At the end of the day, I realized how much fun it was to crawl under the car, get dirty and actually accomplish something. Hopefully, I can do more wrenching because I realize that I miss doing it -- Man and his Car!

thread.
I chose bolt on/DS tape vs Pull ties.
Each their own choice.
Cosmetic differences only.
I provided Paragon constructivecriticism feedback re attachment of the side guards. All 4 mounts should be bolt on with 3 of the 4 using as tape for the mounting from behind the shield. Possible upcoming change. Existing method not viable. I do tape from inside, but in front of shield. Only someone like me would know the difference.

[QUOTE=Jim Shearer;1603626507]Cut them myself from aluminum mesh purchased from Amazon. Took about an hour using a template that is here on the Forum. I had several bent fins that I bent back with a jeweler's screwdriver. Fins are very fragile. No problems with temperatures and the radiators look better too.

I put all the guards in front and sides. After 5000 miles I changed the front to Paragon and the grills look like day one perfect with no disfiguration at all.

I doubt that they do. When I went in 2015 my wife had a lengthy conversation with the lead instructor about when and how they sell those cars. His advice was to never buy one of them because they have essentially been beat to death on their track. They do have great mechanics on staff there to keep the cars safe for participants, but at the end of their runs there they have been run pretty hard. I don't think they modify anything at that school.

7 months ago, when I got my C8, I installed the Custom Car Grills " version that utilizes zip ties . This past week I updated them with the Paragon version that's bolted in..

Here and waiting
I have my Paragon grille protectors here, waiting. All I need is my C8! I have looked at several new C8s at shows and have (sadly) seen bent fins and lots of bugs and debris in the radiator fins. Don’t want that to happen to mine!

Paragon are inside the grille requiring loosening all of the screws on areo panels. There is a video on their website. I’m considering Ezscreen which folds like an accordion and is inserted from the center no fasteners required. There is a video on their website, they can also be removed in the same manner.
