Any Regrets NPP regrets?
I had NPP on my C7. It was okay, but I really don't know if I want to spend the $1,200.00 on my C8 order. Yeah, the car was definitely louder in Sport & Track mode, but I never tracked the car and since I left the car in sport all the time, I just sort of got used to the sound. I can afford NPP on my C8 build budget. I just don't know how badly I really want it...
For those of you with NPP, any regrets? For those who did not order NPP, same question. I know this has been addressed before. Just looking for some fresh perspective...

For me:
I like the option of On or Off, loud or soft. I normally used 'Track' mode but I prefer quiet when cruising on the highway.
Now really don't care to spend extra for mag-ride option. I always use Touring mode and never track.
Lie2Me, are you getting standard wheels or paying the extra $2500? When I order mind, I am going standard and adding after market later.

Stock exhaust is far to quiet for me.

The one thing that my dealer said he would be a salesman about was the NPP - it's the one option he HIGHLY recommended.
I posed it to my wife and she was like "all it does is make it louder? Why would we spend over a grand on that?". Noted.
I'm good with saving the money and having a quieter ride.

Well it does give you an extra 5hp, not that it really matters.
But why even have a Corvette then? If most of us asked our significant others about options like this, or even the car itself, most of them just don’t get it (in the same way we don’t get their shoe obsession, etc).
This is an emotional purchase for most… it’s all about how it makes you feel. Sound plays a big part of that. If I wanted a whisper quiet car I’d get an EV.

Let's not get crazy and make statements like what I've bolded; the sound of a normal Corvette without NPP cannot be compared to that of an EV.
My goodness, sometimes the people around here....

This is an emotional purchase for sure - we don't need a 3rd car, especially a 2-seater, considering we have two young kids - but to say I shouldn't ask my wife about options is just absurd. We're a team, and we make decisions together...and she gets it, because she's fully onboard with having a Corvette.

Whatever floats both of your boats. Point I was trying to make is many SO’s don’t get why a sports car has to make sports car sounds, or be fast for that matter. If I asked mine if I should get a Stingray or Z06, I can all but assure you she would say the Stingray because “why do you need all that power/extra performance”. She doesn’t get it, and that’s ok. But I’m not basing any of my decisions on a purchase like this based off of her lack of “getting it”.
And many people feel, even with the NPP, the exhaust is too quiet from inside the vehicle on the Stingray. My EV comment was not to be taken literally, it was to make a point.

I'll be adding the NPP to my C8 build, and like @LIE2ME I had it on my C7.
I'm glad I did.
In my case, it's just an add-on to a toy, and toys aren't necessarily meant to be "practical".

I have on my C7 and when I order a C8 I will get the NPP exhaust. It ultimately comes down to your choice. 90% of 2020 were built with the NPP exhaust. Have fun no matter which way you go with the purchase.

I could care less about NPP as far as options to make it quite or not. I like my cars loud and every car I have I put an aftermarket system of some kind on. With my C6 I had a catback put in and eliminated the NPP (was a grand sport and came with NPP already). My C7 Z06 already had NPP but I left it in track, pulled the fuse, and added a borla x-pipe. Was loud enough but if not for the C8 coming I would have gone further with making the exhaust louder. With my C8 I only have the NPP because it's part of the Z51 pkg. It's always in track setting and still not loud enough for my taste. The only down side I see with the C8 is that aftermarket exhaust systems are much more expensive than previous years and because the engine and exhaust are all crammed in the same area you really have to be careful with warranty issues. Especially with the C8 being so new and tranny issues popping up. So for now I'll probably leave my C8 alone. In short the NPP is too quite to begin with and the ability to change volume to quite mode is of no importance to me. That all being said only you can decide if NPP is worth it. Are you the type to change the volume of your car all the time? Is stock NPP loud enough for you?

As others have said before - the stock exhaust is not loud enough. IMO the NPP isn't even loud enough. The NPP on the C7 was louder IMO.
NPP on the C8 is a must.
My biggest regret was not getting the Z51 package. Yes they raised the price but it seems like the C8 will depreciate very little over the next five years so you'll be able to make it back. Granted not many people will ever track their car but hey, why not if you can "make back" some of the money?

Today most people associate a sports car with at least some noise coming from the tailpipe. Will it be that way in ten years? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe most new “sports cars” being sold by then will be electric and silent. In 20 years will people hear about cars from pre-2030 that had a switch that allowed the vehicle to produce noise and then more noise? Will those people think such a thing is crazy???

Got it. Love it. No regrets. A car with such visual "speed" appeal should have the right audio track to go with it.
