What’s happens to our 2021 order if we don’t get an allocation?
Says it in the title. I am about two allocations away (smaller dealership that gets 2-3 a month) and have been sitting at 1100 since February. I’m hoping to be a June allocation but also doubtful. If we get pushed into the 2022 model year will I remain at the top of the allocation preferred pile? Could I be reset and have to order all over again? Is it dealer dependent?
Is September the month that dealers start putting in 1100 status 2022 builds?
Thanks!

You need to talk to your dealer about this, if you had gone with one of the top 3 volume dealers you might already have an allocation and placed an order!

It's all up to the dealer. Most of them base it on your deposit date, but you just never know. Get it confirmed.

With MacMulkin it's based on deposit date so you'd jump in front of the 2022 people with later deposit dates. It's only fair. I'm on the MacMulkin 2022 list.

Unfortunately it depends on the dealership. Some will start over with a new order and you will end up at the bottom of the MY22 list.

Your '21 MY year order is cancelled/voided.
You can opt to place a new '22 Order, but must pay for any price increases.
Your place in the dealer queue should be based on your original deposit date, but you must confirm with your dealership.

Happened to me for MY 2020. GM announced the cut line, I did not get an allocation for 2020, the dealer then notified me that I had 2 options, (1) cancel order and get deposit refund, or (2) create a new order for a 2021. I would hope your dealer would give you priority over any new orders they may receive. When I was notified that I would not be getting a car made in 2020, I chose to get a refund, then place my order with a higher volume dealer where you stand a better chance of getter a car.

You do not have an order with GM until they issue an allocation to your dealer and he assigns it to you. If that has happened your order will be produced unless there is a major problem that causes the assembly plant to shut down for an extended period of time.

Suggest placing an order with MacMulkin $2000 refundable deposit until your order placed w/allocation. Customers can track their order waitlist position and GM order status on their Website. They sell at MSRP no add on fees, good customer service and they will have enough allocations to get you a MY 22 car!

Only one person correctly answered both your questions.
Your 2021 order goes away. It does not automatically get converted to a 2022 order, no matter who your dealer is. Your dealer will need to reenter an order for you as a 2022. Which may come with a price increase, new option availability, and other changes.
Where you end up in the line for 2022 orders is entirely up to your dealer, and you should ask them how they're going to handle it. Most dealers, it seems, will process orders in the order of deposit date. So if someone made a deposit for a 2022 before you made your deposit for a 2021, they could end up ahead of you. But only your dealer knows what s/he will do.

When I was told I would not get a 2020 on the order I placed with deposit 10-23-19, the dealer had me come back and place a new order. I did make some changes, and believe I was to pay the new MSRP price. Now I have been told I will be first in line with the dealer for a 2022, and they told me verbally and in an email, I would not pay anymore for the 2022. We will see when the order gets changed to a 2022. I’m glad I got that in an email in case they change their mind. This has been a terrible buying experience overall. FYI, don’t go with small and midsize dealers when buying a Corvette!
My message to dealer:
If I do roll to a 2022, I would expect no cost change to me.
Dealer response “You are absolutely correct, you're cost would not change whatsoever”

Same here, but I stayed with the dealer. I was #7 out of 22 on my dealer's list in 2020. Got pushed to 21 and was one of the first if not the first to place the order then. I did museum delivery so not sure how that affects GM's decision to allocate/move forward with an order.

I put a deposit down in December 2019. I was number 14 out of 20 allocations the dealer was given for 2020. Dealer was projecting a late August or September delivery for my HTC. COVID hit and My dealer barely got half their allocations built.
Faster forward to July 2020. My dealer emails me with the option to get my deposit back or resubmit my order for a 2021. I’m now number two on their allocation list.
My 2021 order is finalized in late August. Production control picks it up in mid November and car is built third week of January. I finally take delivery mid February.
My dealer was great to work with during my C8 adventure. And they did the right thing moving me to the front of the line for 2021 orders. That’s the way any good dealer should operate.

To me it's all about the dealer being honest and upfront about their allocations. Mine was, and it has worked out great.
